Check your Academic Advising Dashboard in my.harvard

All undergraduate concentrators are asked to check their Advising Dashboard in my.harvard to confirm that fulfillment of their EAS concentration requirements is displaying as expected. If you believe you have fulfilled or partially fulfilled a requirement, but it is not reflected in your AAR (academic advising report), please get in contact with the Interim EAS Program Coordinator (Naia Poyer) to correct the issue.

Summer 2022 Study Abroad Updates from Asia Centers
Please note the following decisions are tentative and will be subject to change in accordance with public health guidance and travel policies. Further updates will be listed as needed.

Updates as of January 2022:
  • In response to Harvard's ongoing travel restrictions, the Asia Center will consider funding undergraduate and graduate research grant applications for students who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Travel within the United States and internationally is permitted (although the student travel policies still apply for international travel). Please see the Harvard Travel Guidance website for up to date information.
  • Kyoto Consortium for Japanese Studies (KCJS) will announce sometime in early 2022 whether its Summer '22 language intensive will take place as planned on the campus of Doshisha University. If not, the program will take place virtually, as in 2021.
  • Kansai Gaidai University's Summer Asian Studies initiatives will be held online in 2022, as in 2021.
  • Available programs include the ASP Home-Based Program (online ASP courses), the Online Summer Program during June and July, and the Intercultural Engagement Program (IEP), a student-led virtual initiative for Japanese and foreign students to learn about each other.   • Students of the KGIP program may be invited to participate in the Kansai Gaidai Internship Program.

Harvard Foundation Undergraduate Internship Application Spring 2022
Application Deadline: Applications received by 11:59pm on Wednesday, February 2 will be given precedence

The Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations is seeking dedicated Harvard College undergraduate students to work as interns during the 2021-2022 academic year. We invite students who are passionate about diversity education, culturally affirming programming, and have a willingness to engage with matters of identity, equity, inclusion, and belonging to apply for this role. This internship is an academic year-long professional development opportunity with the possibility of continuity for returning interns who have a satisfactory performance. Interns are paid $15/hour and are expected to work 8-10 hours per week, averaging 9hrs/week during the semester.

INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
(1) Be an enrolled first-year or second-year Harvard College undergraduate student in good standing
(2) Ability to commit to the role for the entire remainder of the 2021-2022 academic year with a possibility for continuation (exceptions made for returning interns who select to study abroad)
(3) Availability to attend Weekly Skill-Building Trainings from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM on Wednesdays and Weekly Staff-Intern Meetings from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Fridays

Mahindra Humanities Center Public Humanities Internships

The Mahindra Humanities Center invites applications for undergraduate internships in the Public Humanities. Internships offered for Spring 2022 are: Archival and Licensing Research InternshipEducation Equity InternshipNon-Profit Administration Internship, and Medical Humanities Education and Video Editing Internship. Students may apply to up to THREE Internships in the Public Humanities. If you apply to more than one, please apply to each separately and rank them in your order of preference in each of your cover letters.
Qualifications: Students must be currently enrolled sophomores or juniors. NOTE: If you have held one of the Humanities internships previously, you will still be considered eligible even if you are a senior graduating in May 2022. (New applicants graduating in May 2022 are ineligible.)
Become a Youth Mentor through Harvard Ed Portal!
Application Deadline: Rolling; interviews take place in first two weeks of each semester

For over a decade, Harvard undergraduates have provided engaging, interdisciplinary mentoring to the youth of Allston-Brighton. Now, in addition to working with 3rd–8th graders, undergraduate Mentors are involved in all aspects of Harvard Ed Portal (HEP) programming for youth and adults, including the arts, digital literacy, health and wellness, workforce development, and college and career preparedness for middle school and high school students. HEP Mentors develop their own curricula or collaborate with other undergraduates, graduate students from the Harvard School of Education, staff, or visiting experts (for example, an artist in residence).

Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship
AY22 Deadline: Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 12:00pm (noon)

The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program (MMUF) of Harvard College selects a small cohort of sophomores to join a tightly-knit research community to conduct independent research in close collaboration with a faculty mentor and engage in pre-professional development workshops and seminars on pursuing doctoral degrees, research, and life in the academy--during their junior and senior years. Korea Institute Undergraduate Summer Research Travel Grants

Asian American Business Association
The Asian American Business Association (AABA) provides a forum for the promotion, understanding, and cross-cultural exchange of East Asian and Asian American business, social, academic, cultural, political, and community-related initiatives. Visit their website here.

Asian American Dance Troupe
For over twenty years, the Asian American Dance Troupe (AADT) has sought to spread an appreciation and awareness of Asian culture through the medium of dance. Our repertoire includes a diverse range of dance forms including traditional, ethnic minority, fusion, martial arts, modern, and hip hop. Asian American Studies Working Group is a space of interdisciplinary collaboration between faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates pursuing scholarships in Asian American and Pacific Islander (API) histories, experiences, and intellectual traditions. Its goals are to build scholarly community, explore major debates and developments in API Studies, and enrich the research pursued by its members across Harvard University. China Forum
Founded in 1998, Harvard College China Forum is currently the largest China-focused conference in the New England area and annually attracts audiences from all over North America. Every spring the forum invites influential business leaders, policy shapers, and leading scholars to Harvard to address current events in a wide range of topics relevant to the development of China today. Operating under the Harvard China Review framework, HCCF, together with the Harvard China Review, runs a series of sub-programs, including monthly seminars and an annual cultural exchange program in the summer. Gaongil (Harvard College Modern Korean Studies Society) 
A tight-knit organization that meets to discuss various economic, social, political, cultural issues related to modern Korea. As the Korean word "Gaongil" means "Middle-Path," the organization is committed to remaining nonpartisan while encouraging free, unhindered discussion. Anyone interested in joining Gaongil is welcome! No prior experience with Korean language or culture is needed; meetings are in English.

Harvard Asian American Womxn's Association
The Asian American Womxn's Association recognizes the need for a unified, open community at Harvard concerned with the issues facing people of Asian descent in Western society. The purpose of the Asian American Womxn's Association is to address these needs by creating a collective voice and promoting the prominence and concerns of the Asian-American population, both within the community and without. Harvard Buddhist Community
The HDS Buddhist Community (HBC) is a nondenominational Buddhist group serving the Harvard and Cambridge communities throughout the school year. In addition to hosting weekly meditation sittings, HBC also organizes Buddhist film screenings and discussion groups, as well as the annual Buddhism & Race Conference. HBC generally meets weekly at the Harvard Divinity School.

Harvard Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA)
Harvard CSSA is dedicated to the goal of promoting social, intellectual, and cultural activities of Chinese students and scholars at Harvard and for other interested members in the Harvard community. It facilitates communication among its members and acts as a liaison between with other organizations on campus. The group facilitates the exchange of information between China and the US. Its activities include sponsoring/co-sponsoring social, intellectual, & cultural events and seminars. Harvard Taiwanese Culture Society
TCS is a student-run organization at Harvard College dedicated to promoting the culture and heritage of Taiwan and Taiwanese-Americans. From cultural events like making muaji to social events like karaoke to special events like their annual Winterfest: Taste of Taiwan, their goal is to enhance awareness of Taiwanese culture and provide a place for those interested in learning about Taiwan to meet. Harvard Task Force for Asian American Progressive Advocacy and Studies (TAPAS)

Harvard Vietnamese Association
The Harvard Vietnamese Association is dedicated to fostering an awareness of Vietnamese culture on campus and within the Greater Boston area, and promoting the interests of the Vietnamese student body at Harvard. Korea Caucus
The mission of Korea Caucus, a student-run organization at Harvard Kennedy School, is to actively raise the awareness of Korea within the KSG community by sharing the country's cultural heritage through social events, serving as a bridge and resource to non-Korean students who are interested in learning more about the country. Korean Association
The Korean Association leads the undergraduate Korean-American community's efforts to teach & learn about Korean culture and political issues. KA also provides a social outlet for Korean-American students to meet others with shared heritage & interests. Organization of Asian American Sisters in Service
OAASIS currently consists of 25 members committed to each other in three aspects: commitment in sisterhood, commitment in service, and commitment in exploring the diverse experiences of Asian and Asian American women. The Wave Literary & Arts Magazine
