Jennifer Lin to discuss Beyond Yellowface on Feb. 9

The Humanities Institute, with support from the Institute For Chinese Studies, the East Asian Studies Center, and the Department of Dance, will hold a film discussion with Jennifer Lin, journalist and filmmaker, on Thursday, Februry 9 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 311 Denney Hall.

Abstract: Jennifer Lin will discuss her documentary film in progress, Beyond Yellowface. This film shines a light on the persistence of anti-Asian stereotypes in ballet and explores current advocacy work to make ballet more inclusive. Jennifer will discuss themes of race, ethnicity, and representation in the United States, and will reflect on her process of putting this film together.

Register to attend Spring 2023 International Student Experience Workshop Series

Every semester, the Office of International Affairs hosts its International Student Experience Workshop Series for faculty and staff interested in learning more about the international student experience.

The workshops will include presentations by staff from the Office of International Affairs and other offices on campus, as well as a panel of international students who will answer questions and share their experiences on the selected topics.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to register for all three in-person workshops. Each workshop is offered twice, and you only need to choose one to attend. Those who complete the three-part series will receive a training certificate from the Office of International Affairs. There is no cost to register.
