The Institute for Korean Studies will present a target language lecture featuring Taeho Kim, Pusan National University, on Tuesday, April 16 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at 351 Hagerty Hall. Prof. Kim will present "Present Portrait of Korea: Key Words Depicting Societal Changes and Concerns." This lecture will be delivered in Korean.

Prof. Park will present "Korean Millennials: Their Views on Dating and Marriage." This lecture will be delivered in Korean.

To celebrate her promotion to full professor, Patricia Sieber, Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, will be giving an inaugural lecture on Thursday, April 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Faculty Club Grand Lounge, followed by a reception. Prof. Sieber will present “The Difference Pronouns Can Make: Performance Aesthetics and China’s First Female Star Theater, 1260-1400.”

The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, with support from the East Asian Studies Center, will present "Harmony in Motion: A Night of Korean Arts & Performance" on Friday, April 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 180 Hagerty Hall. Registration is required for free admission, complimentary dinner, and refreshments.

The Ohio Association of Teachers of Japanese, with support from the East Asian Studies Center, will present its 2024 OATJ Spring Workshop featuring Kimiko Suzuki, Haverford College, on Saturday, April 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. online (registration required). Prof. Suzuki will present "Reconsideration of Kanji Instruction and Grading: Integrating 'Beyond Standardization'."

The Japanese Student Organization, with support from the East Asian Studies Center, will present the 18th Annual JSO Spring Festival on Sunday, April 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Ohio Union Performance Hall. The festival is free and open to the public.
