Christ is Risen Indeed!
Happy 7th Sunday in the season of Eastertide. Eastertide is the season where we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Throughout Eastertide we are using the life of the disciple Peter to learn how the resurrection helps us, heals us, and humbles us into being people God has created us to be. The resurrection was not simply an event that happened a long time ago. It was the unleashing of God’s passion over pride and prisons. That passion is still alive and active today. This Sunday, we will explore how Christ’s passion teaches humility. Come, let us worship the God who is mindful of us. Come, let us worship the Christ that washes feet. Come, let us worship the Spirit that loves the lowly.

LURA TURNER HOMES
CELEBRATE 61 YEARS SERVING
SPECIAL NEEDS ADULTS
At 2 p.m., Sunday, May 17, Lura Turner Homes
for Adults with Developmental Disabilities will celebrate 61 years
of serving special needs men and women with a Founders Day Gala
at Faith United Methodist, 8640 North 19th Avenue, Phoenix.
The highlight of this event is a ground-breaking ceremony for new residential facilities to be built by SoDella Construction. The public is invited as LTH honors donors and volunteers as well as residents and staff of this non-profit founded in 1965 by Methodist deaconess Lura Turner. Through its first 61 years,
Lura Turner Homes has received steadfast support from numerous United Methodist and Baptist churches and many church outreach groups.
Refreshments will be provided by Aunt Chilada’s historic Mexican restaurant.
