Get Ready to Share your Thoughts with Thought Exchange
As many in our community are already aware, the district enrollment is growing and is set to continue to grow. Currently, there several neighborhoods in building phases and several additional projects that will begin construction in the future, as well as exisiting home activity. Those developments are projected to bring hundreds of new students to our schools. Some are single residences and some are multi-family apartment style units.
Because of the projected enrollment growth, the district has been looking into building capacities and enrollment numbers. Our Long Term Facility Team has been meeting on a regular basis to uncover areas of concern for the future enrollment growth and how that growth will affect our buildings.
To help us better understand what is important to you, our Kings Community, at the end of next week, you will receive an email with an invitation to share your thoughts. We are using a company called Thoughexchange which is an online learning process that allows us to reach out to everyone affected by the decisions made in our district. This Exchange enables us to hear your thoughts and learn about your priorities.
You will be invited to participate in an Exchange that flows through three steps:
- Share – answer open-ended questions about education in our schools
- Star – review ideas from other stakeholders and rate the ideas you like best
- Discover – learn what is important to the community as a whole
We look forward to hearing your thoughts to help us better understand what is important to you, both in your school and in the district!

New Look, New Logo
We are excited to announce that the Kings Board of Education has approved our new and improved Kings Logo!
The new
District Brand Guidelines
were designed to ensure that we promote our district in a clear, consistent, and professional manner.
The brand consists of items such as a logo, it's assets, colors, and typography. The official use of the logos and images related to the district brand may be used with permission from the district.
Consistent use of these new guildelines will help us to achieve a common look and feel across the district and make our communications recognizable to the public.

Author Kevin O'Malley Visits Our Elementary Schools
Author Kevin O'Malley visited all three of our elementary buildings this week to share about his experiences with writing and/or illustrating. At current account Mr. O'Malley has written or illustrated 75 childrens books.
Mr. O'Malley travels from his home in Baltimore, MD to visit schools all over the country. He presented four sessions at each building. Each grade level's session was different but focused on the writing process and how he goes about being creative in writing and illustrating books.
Students had the opportunity to purchase books through pre-order and he autographed each one. His visit was made possible by the generous support of each building's PTO.
Reports from students and teachers from our buildings say that O'Malley was very engaging and entertaining. Jessica Contratto, First Grade Teacher at JFB said, "He is a great story teller and very funny!"
