National Hispanic Heritage Month
|
|
Since September 15, the District recognized the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Kings Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, Jorge Gonzalez sent emails to the staff with facts and interesting stories regarding Hispanic culture to share with students.
Kings Junior High School Spanish Teacher, Aaron Bunker took a lot of the information that Mr. Gonzalez shared and put together a display case seen below.
October 15 marked the end of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Mr. Gonzalez challenged the staff to take some time to speak to, dine with, visit, or host someone with a Hispanic background. He said, " You will find that Hispanics are some of the friendliest, gregarious, generous people anywhere."
This month, as part of our Cultural Competency, we will celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month and National Italian American Heritage Month.
