Congratulations Kings Treasurer's Office!
|
|
A recent financial audit of the Kings Local School District by the Auditor of State’s office has returned a clean audit report for the third year in a row. Kings’ excellent record keeping has earned it the
Auditor of State Award
for 2018.
Kings Treasurer, Cary Furniss said that this award is a positive reflection of every employee in the Kings District. He said, “Every employee has the obligation to follow the policies and procedures put in place by the State of Ohio. This award shows that our employees are doing a great job!”

Kings Local Schools is proud to join the American School Bus Council (ASBC) in recognizing our school bus drivers for their commitment to safety during Love the Bus month.
We know being a bus driver can be a very stressful job! We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Kings drivers and monitors who greet our students in the morning and send them home safely each day. They are #KingsStrong!
The Love the Bus program was launched in 2007 to raise awareness and appreciation for the hundreds of thousands of school bus drivers nationwide.

Kings Theatre Snow White Meet & Greet
|
|
Kings Theatre hosted a Meet and Greet with Snow White and Friends on Saturday, February 9. Twenty five lucky princesses and princes from our kingdom got to celebrate with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Sleeping Beauty, Prince Phillip, Jasmine, Aladdin, Ariel, Scuttle, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Rapunzel, Flynn, and Belle!

Kings Stagelighters Receive Donation
|
|
The Kings Stagelighters received another generous donation from the Daumeyer Family at last weekend's Kings Junior High production of Snow White and the Prince.
The Daumeyer's donated $1,500 dollars to the Kings Theatre program in memory of their beloved daughter, Kaylyn, who tragically lost her life in 2015. The Daumeyer's have donated thousands of dollars into the fine arts programs at Kings in memory of Kaylyn.
Kings Stagelighters appreciates their continued support of their program!

On Saturday, February 23, 2019, Kings Junior High School is pleased to host a one of a kind fundraising event. This Mattress Sale event has been VERY successful for KJH and for thousands of school districts all over the country for over 10 years.
They are excited to bring it back for the 7th time to Kings Junior High School on Saturday, February 23 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.in the KJH Gymnasium.

BandCakes and Instrument Drive
|
|
Join Kings Bands as they host this year's Pat Cope Memorial BANDcakes Breakfast. It will be held at Kings High School on Saturday, March 9 from 7:30 a.m.-noon. All you can eat pancakes are on the menu and enjoy performances by various Kings Bands and music ensembles.
Cost is $8.00 per person. Children ages 5 and under are FREE!
Also that day, the Kings Band Boosters will be collecting used instruments for this year's Instrument Drive. Sponsored by Kaylyn's Hope Chest, a non-profit organization in memory of former Kings Band Student, Kaylyn Daumeyer (pictured), honors her memory by making instruments available to members of the community who cannot afford an instrument. The collected instruments are serviced and and loaned to students who would like to join any of the Kings band programs.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year will begin in on March 4 and run through March 22. All registrations will be by appointment only.

Community Learning Series

Last week, a panel of Kings High School Students presented
"
Social Media: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"
for our Kings Community Learning Series. They gave important information related to social media practices.

Our next topic,
"CommUNITY Conversations: Achieving Inclusive Excellence"
will feature an interactive session with Tommie Lewis, President and CEO of Make It Plain Consulting. Mr. Lewis has extensive local and global experience guiding school districts and private companies to achieve diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence.
In this session, parents and community members will find common ground on Kings core values, and confront and solve difficult issues. By bringing people together to share stories and discuss issues that matter, we will expand our sense of neighborhood and bridge divides through the power of connections and relationships.
This presentation will be held on Tuesday, February 26 in the Kings Junior High School Multipurpose Room (enter door D-5 from the parking lot located between the Kings Junior High School and the football stadium).

A Valentine Recital and FUNdraiser
|
|
Join the Kings High School Choir Family at Heart and Song on Saturday, February 16 in the Kings High School Cafeteria beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Independent Music Performance students, Amy Helms (vocalist) and Justin Alcorn (pianist) will be performing at 7:00 p.m. and a jazz combo made up of Mo Juenger, Andrew Theiss, William Ritchie, & Tim Bredemeier will entertain from 6:30-7:00 p.m. Violinists Ian Meeker & Brett Roebuck will be roaming around the lobby, and there will be several more musical "surprises" from start to finish.
Your $8 admission gets you unlimited desserts! All proceeds from the evening support the Kings Choir Family. Black tie optional and encouraged.

Mammogram Van Coming to Kings
|
|
The Mercy Health/Jewish Hospital mobile mammography van will be in the Kings Local School District to offer screening mammograms for our female community members March 5-7. Mammography screening takes approximately 10-15 minutes and will be available at our schools.

Joshua's Place Power Pack
|
|
Looking for an exercise goal? Want to make a difference for students in need? The 2019 Joshua's Place Power Pack 5K will do both! This chip timed race will take place on Saturday, April 6 at 9:00 a.m. at the Village of South Lebanon Community Center.
This year's race will benefit the Kings Power Pack Program which provides weekend food for our students in need. To learn more about the Kings Power Pack Program

KJH Men's Lacrosse Meeting
|
|
There will be a mandatory Lacrosse Kickoff Meeting for any junior high student interested in playing Boy's Lacrosse. The meeting will take place on Sunday, February 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kings Junior High School Cafeteria. This meeting is Mandatory for all PARENTS AND PLAYERS!
During this time we will conduct the mandatory parent informational meeting, meet the coaching staff and talk about the season.
