Hodges Family:

We are very excited about coming together in person for worship on Sun., June 14 @ 10 am. Below is a set of procedures we ask you to follow for the health and safety of us all.

           1. Those in the 6 th grade, or older, are asked to please bring and wear a mask.
           2. There will be no Sunday School, but there will be activities for children of all ages as they remain with their parents.
           3. The offering plates will be available on the front communion table, and there will be a welcome card in the bulletin for all to complete and submit.
           4. Offering envelopes will be on the tables in the entryway.
           5. Every other pew will not be utilized, and bulletins will be pre-placed in areas where you may sit.
           6. The “Passing of the Peace,” congregational singing, and unison prayers have been removed from the service, but all are welcome to sing and pray quietly and remain seated.

We anticipate learning very quickly what we need to relax and refine, so please bear with us. Your safety is our primary concern.

Hodges is planning a mini-camp.  The maximum number of children we will register is 40.   This will allow us to practice safe distancing and more closely work to maintain the good of the whole.  We are going to call this CAMP JOY and will follow the familiar VBS footprint of Art, Games, Science and (this is a new station) Meditation Stations. There will be a minimal charge to cover snacks and supplies ($25 for 1/$35 for 2/$45 for 3 or more children from same family.)

Please register, pay and volunteer on our church website at:

With joy,
Debbie

YOUTH LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT) NEEDED!
RESPOND BY FRIDAY, JUNE 12!

Mrs. Debbie, Jenni and myself are in need of some enthusiastic young leaders to help with our mini camp, Camp Joy. This will be similar to VBS but smaller in number of campers with a cap of 40 children. We need YOUR HELP the week of June 29 to July 3, from 9 am- 12 pm. You would help assist or lead a group of campers through various activities. We will also have a youth leader training day the week before. We also have an activity at the end of camp to celebrate our time together and all of your hard work! It will provide about 20 hours community service. If you have friends that may be a good fit, invite them as well (just let us know so we can welcome them). Spots are limited, so have your youth message me or send me an email.

Car For A Missionary Family

HBPC has contributed to the support of Jim and Jodi McGill as PCUSA Mission Co-workers for many years. Jim is a water specialist and Jodi is a nurse. They were in Malawi for over 20 years where Jim Pellot worked with them. They now work in Niger in northern Africa. They have visited HBPC on 2 occasions.

Jodi and 4 of her children were evacuated by PCUSA from Niger when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. They have been staying in southern Florida with relatives and will now be relocating to Decatur, GA. to the PCUSA missionary housing. Jodi is in need of a car. If anyone in the congregation is willing to sell a car or loan a car to Jodi, please contact Jim Pellot at 904-992-8711 or e-mail him at: pellot1@bellsouth.net .

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MET IN PERSON ON 6/5

High School youth met at HBPC on 6/5. Our group had so much fun catching up and playing outdoor games. We discussed current events happening in our country, on social media and how we can reflect Christ during these times.

This year we chose to celebrate our 5 graduating High School Seniors virtually by creating this video (see link below) of their memories throughout their years at Hodges. Hurricane Preparedness

This season is proving to be an active hurricane season. Make sure you are prepared.

TO PASTOR JON:
This is a day of celebration!! One year ago today you led your first service as our senior pastor. What a wonderful year it has been with great services, successful sanctuary renovation, thought-provoking and inspirational sermons, fun fellowship events, memorial services, new members, ZOOM meetings, posting Sunday services online . . . and you never missed a beat. You have been an excellent leader constantly anticipating the needs of church members while challenging us. Thank you for this year of leadership. We look forward to continuing great work with you as, together, we design the 'new normal' for HBPC and realize what God has called us to do in this community. THANKS for all you have done, are doing, and will do!! We appreciate and value you and your leadership.
