October 1 Cancellations
NAIA Members,

Beginning October 1, 2020, annual cancellations (previously referred to as inactivation) will begin for students with fall 2020 applications for fall sports.
Applications will be cancelled only for students who:

  • are registered for a fall 2020 application,
  • are registered for only fall sport(s),
  • have not completed a task since September 1, and
  • are not yet in line for review.

Students who originally registered as a U.S. freshman without a break and then reapply will be required to pay the difference in fees between the original "no-break" application type and their new "break" application type. As always, international students and students who previously registered as a "break" will not be affected when reapplying, as their student types do not change.

In response to COVID-19, the Council of Faculty Athletic Representatives (CFAR) has provided an exception allowing students who receive an eligibility center decision of eligible in fall 2020 to not need a new decision in the spring even if the student does not identify at the NAIA school in the fall. Please see the situation analysis for details. We encourage all students to pay and submit their fall 2020 applications before October 1, 2020 and get a decision of eligible in the fall so they only need the one decision from the eligibility center for the year.

As a reminder, the process for reapplication is found here.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Your eligibility team
