NECA Government Affairs Action Requested -- H.R. 1 |
Take action today to support H.R 1 Lowering Energy Costs Act which seeks to make meaningful permitting reforms that would allow for a streamlined permitting process for infrastructure, mining, and energy projects to become operational faster.
Permitting reform has long been a priority for NECA contractors nationwide. Despite efforts to address reforms to the system, the permitting process has continued to slow down projects of all sizes and scope. Federal permitting reform for energy, minerals, and infrastructure projects is imperative and would allow for projects to come online faster and provide much-needed relief to NECA contractors performing this work. Take action today to support H.R 1 to bring meaningful reforms to the federal permitting process. It is critical that we make our voices heard so this legislation can pass the House and engage the Senate to come to the negotiating table. Be sure to take action and visit NECA’s legislative action center to submit your pre-written letter to your Member of Congress.

ELECTRI Updates
A NEW BEGINNING – ELECTRI held its first Connection Summit in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This gathering brought together contractors and industry allies from across North America. There were informative discussions about the state of and opportunities for electrical contracting work in Puerto Rico. The 50+ participants enjoyed both the business agenda and the social program. For the 2023 Student Passport Project, the Iowa State University NECA Student Chapter spent several days ahead of the Summit working with ELECTRI Council volunteers to install much-needed residential solar panels and a generator.
The ELECTRI Connection Summit takes over for ELECTRI’s former Cross-Border meetings. The Summit format will include many more local representatives of the electrical industry and ties the Student Passport project directly to Council volunteers who help design and execute the work properly. Please click the link below for a full re-cap of every event at the Summit.
IT TAKES A WHOLE VILLAGE - Orvil Anthony, Jr. knows that leading Fisk Electric is not a one-man accomplishment. He is very clear that keeping the firm successful takes a village. He also acknowledges that continued growth means you must never stop setting goals – for the company and for yourself. Click here for Orvil’s Think Like a Leader conversation.
