The Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) is a labor-management organization serving union building trades and union contractors. CISCO currently represents more than 140,000 union construction workers and 8,000 union contractors in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake and McHenry Counties. CISCO is looking for a self-motivated, energetic employee who possesses a strong working knowledge of union apprenticeship programs. The “Education-to-Careers Director” must be able to forge partnerships with a diverse group that includes union training coordinators, contractors, businesses, industry partners, school educators and counselors, and other non-profit organizations.

NECA's Recognition of Safety Achievement

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) formally recognizes electrical contractors that adopt safety and health related work practices, as a core value, within their organization. Having the results that demonstrate this commitment is instrumental. NECA Recognition of Achievement in Safety Excellence and NECA Recognition of Zero Injury Achievement are elite safety recognition programs focused on the electrical construction industry, recognizing companies that excel in multiple areas of their safety and health programs.
Deadline is March 1, 2021.

NECA 2021 Project Excellence Awards - Rules Adjustment!
|
The application process has begun for the NECA 2021 Project Excellence Awards. A number of changes have been made to the rules (highlighted in bold). Please be aware of the following prior to your project submittal:
1. A NECA member must perform the installation.
2. Projects must be completed between
January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.
3. Completed entry forms must be received
between February 1, 2021 and June 1, 2021.
4. The competition will consider twelve categories
based on the type of project and its dollar
value:
-- Commercial/Institutional
-- Design Build
-- Educational
-- Energy Solutions/Green Building
-- Health Care
-- Industrial
-- Low Voltage/Integrated Systems now called,
"Technology / Low Voltage"
-- Overhead Transmission
-- Residential
-- Street Lighting/Traffic Signal
-- Substation/Interconnection
-- Transportation/Infrastructure
5.-Submittal of Photos requirement included.

IMSCA Virtual Town Hall Legislative Forum - March 19, 2021 - 10:00 AM

The Illinois Mechanical & Specialty Contractors Association’s (IMSCA’s) Virtual Town Hall Legislative Forum is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 19th via Zoom. IMSCA has an exciting panel of legislators who will provide IMSCA members with an overview of important issues facing our state that the Illinois General Assembly will tackle during the spring 2021 legislative session. This event is designed to provide IMSCA members with a unique opportunity to receive an “insider’s view” from key Illinois State Senators including Senate President Don Harmon, Assistant Majority Leader Linda Holmes and Senator Ram Villivalam. Each panelist will provide a 10-15 minute presentation and a brief Q & A period will follow their presentations.
