ELECTRI International Update

WHAT DO YOU PREFER? – Many of our contractors work closely with our ELECTRI partners - Border States, Graybar, Mayer, Sonepar and Wesco. Now, we can help them. Distributors want to be sure they have the right options in place to meet your business needs. They want to know how you reach out to your distributors to order a part, get a spec sheet, or check ship dates. ELECTRI and NECA are working closely with the National Association of Electrical Distributors on a special project: Contractors: Purchasing and Inquiry Preferences. Working together, we can make progress on the critical matter of supply challenges impacting all electrical contractors and your industry partners.

Let us know your preferences by completing this five-minute survey. Click here for the link. Feel free to forward the survey link to others in your company who should take part as well. For any questions, please contact Erika TenEyck at NAED. Thank you for your participation!

Know Your Rights: "Workplace Discrimination is Illegal"

Updated Poster -  Reminder

The law requires an employer to post a notice describing the Federal laws prohibiting job discrimination based on race, color, sex (including pregnancy and related conditions, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, religion, age (40 and older), equal pay, disability or genetic information (including family medical history or genetic tests or services), and retaliation for filing a charge, reasonably opposing discrimination, or participating in a discrimination lawsuit, investigation, or proceeding. The “Know Your Rights: Workplace Discrimination is Illegal” poster, prepared by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), summarizes these laws and explains how employees or applicants can file a complaint if they believe that they have experienced discrimination. These posters should be placed in a conspicuous location in the workplace where notices to applicants and employees are customarily posted. In addition to physically posting, covered employers are encouraged to post the notice digitally on their web sites in a conspicuous location. In most cases, electronic posting supplements the physical posting requirement. In some situations (for example, for employers without a physical location or for employees who telework or work remotely and do not visit the employer's workplace on a regular basis), it may be the only posting. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that notices of Federal laws prohibiting job discrimination be made available in a location that is accessible to applicants and employees with disabilities that limit mobility.

IMSCA’s General Counsel, Jim Rohlfing, drafted a document titled, “Impacts and Considerations for Dealing with Section 13.5 to the Wage Payment & Collection Act."   You can click on a link to the document, as it is intended to serve as an informational resource to help IMSCA members further their knowledge of the new law.
