Announcing the 2021-2022 NECA Manual of Labor Units |
NECA is excited to announce the launch of the 2021-2022 edition of the MLU. This edition features new labor units for cable bus, conduit tags, all-threaded hanger rods, coaxial cable, traffic light camera controls and much more.
To provide all NECA members with more options, we are releasing an all-new web subscription to enhance user experience. The subscription features the ability to export sections to excel, utilize calculators, customize column factoring and more.
Each NECA member company is able to request a free copy of the MLU each cycle and we’re providing more value than ever this year—each NECA member company will get one seat of access to the new web subscription (a $385 value)! This subscription will provide access over the life of this edition of the MLU with 2 years of access to the labor units!
Accredited Representatives will receive an email with access instructions to this new system within the next two weeks.

A special MEP Innovation Conference has been arranged for January 24 – 26, 2022 in Tampa, Florida. It has been designed especially for the construction industry – especially for construction technology specialists working for your company. NECA and their mechanical (MCAA) and sheet metal (SMACNA) partners are working together to present the MEP Innovation Conference, powered by Trimble. It is the most in-depth trade-focused conference on construction technology and innovation you will find anywhere. There will be presentations from more than 65 experienced MEP contractors, including a good representation of NECA contractors. In each session, one of your peers will present a case study showing how they integrate the latest tools, technology, hardware, and software. You and your key staff members will leave the MEP Innovation Conference with a host of ideas and techniques that will help you drive best practices for your business.

EIT Monthly Reports & Payments – effective January 2022, all payroll reports and
corresponding fringe benefit payments must be submitted to EIT electronically. A notice
addressing this was sent out by EIT last week & the notice is posted on the ECA website.

Chicago Building Congress Merit Awards 2022 |
The Merit Awards have celebrated the building industry since 1956 by singling out the outstanding projects in greater Chicagoland built during the past three years. Merit Awards are presented for construction in the following nine categories:
Education
Healthcare
Residential/Hospitality
Commercial Construction under $50M
Commercial Construction over $50M
Renovation and Adaptive Reuse Under $15M
Renovation and Adaptive Reuse Over $15M
Infrastructure or Industrial Construction

CISCO Annual Scholarships Available |
CISCO has begun to accept applications for its long-standing Annual Scholarship Awards Program. The applications for these different categories can be found on CISCO’s website/homepage at www.cisco.org. The three scholarship program categories are: 1) Four-year college scholarships for high school seniors; 2) Two-year awards for seniors planning on attending a community college; and 3) Two-year continuing education awards to union members or contractor employees. The deadline to submit the applications is Friday, February 18, 2022. Interested students may email the completed applications, or send in the mail.
