ELECTRI has a new 2022 Updated Change Order Guidelines - A Quick Reference Guide. This is a very valuable tool for contractors dealing with any change order issue. Prior negotiation and knowledge of the contract’s terms will aid the flow and process of equitable contract modifications. The single most common area of dispute in the change order process is cost. Among cost-related disputes, items related to recoverable direct costs, overhead-profit %, and impact factors resulting in consequential costs make up the vast majority of the disagreements. The Change Order Guidelines provide a fair and reasonable process for costing/pricing change orders. Here’s the link to the Guide. The Wage Payment & Collection Act was amended this past Spring with the passage of HB 5412 (P.A. 102-1076).  This new law adds Section 13.5 to the Wage Payment & Collection Act.  This will directly impact the Illinois construction industry.
