This month, a panel of our friends from Gas Transition Allies will talk with us about getting off gas and what's happening with geothermal. Mark Dyen and Marilyn Ray Smith will share information about the organization and their current legislative agenda. Mark Dyen is a longtime energy policy activist as a policy advocate at Massachusetts Fair Share and as a designer and implementer of energy efficiency programs at Conservation Services Group. Garrett Casey, who will be also presenting, has served since 2021 as policy director and counsel to Senator Cindy Creem, who is the longtime champion of several bills related to the gas system and the transition to clean thermal energy. Garrett has also been the lead staffer to the Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change during Senator Creem's chairmanship.

Bring your questions and let's delve into their insights and hopefully some answers!

In the second half of our meeting we'll get updates from our Legislative Team, with breakout groups to focus on our involvement in possible actions.

Our CHOICES and our VOICES make a difference and WE can change what we do AND what happens.

Make Polluters Pay

Join the MA Campaign to MAKE POLLUTERS PAY to learn about the campaign, how it will help your community, and how YOU can make it a reality.

The Make Polluters Pay Bill - HD. 3369/SD.1674, is a bill in the MA legislature introduced by Sen. Jamie Eldridge, Rep. Steve Owens, and Rep. Jack Lewis, that requires the worst carbon emitters to contribute to a Superfund to pay for climate-related damages in Massachusetts. Fossil fuel companies have knowingly endangered our world for decades, putting our lives and livelihoods at risk – they should be responsible for the damages.
