The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) will hold its March Membership Meeting as a VIRTUAL program on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

The program will feature industry updates, as well as presentations from representatives of:

Electric Vehicle sales are estimated to be 1.4 million in 2025 versus 1.2 million. About 9.6 million charge ports will be required to support 18.7 million EVs in 2030. This represents a significant investment in EV charging infrastructure. President Biden's new Energy Plan calls for 500,000 new EV Charging Stations in the US. His Energy Plan specifically calls for "EVITP" Certified Contractors on these projects.

ELECTRI -- Invitation to Join the Focus Group for "What's Next After Prefab?"

As one of ELECTRI International's selected 2021 research projects MCA, Inc. is conducting a study of “What’s Next After Prefab?” for electrical contractors. The plan for the research is to conduct a 4-6 hour online Focus Group event to review the state of prefabrication within the industry and steps that are going to be necessary to expand beyond today's barriers that limit prefabrication.

The guided discussion will be led by MCA and rely heavily upon the participation of contractors who have been working to expand their use of prefabrication, and are willing to openly discuss their successes and failures associated with these challenges. The focus group session will be held via web-based format and is currently planned for March 15, 2021. Your prompt registration is essential. If you wish to participate, please complete our short pre-registration survey so that we can properly plan for your involvement and prepare for participants to either present their own experience(s) or simply join in the discussion. IMSCA Virtual Town Hall Legislative Forum / Legislative Update (March 5, 2021)

SAVE the DATE for IMSCA’s Virtual Town Hall Legislative Forum! The event will be held Friday, March 19^th at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. IMSCA is excited to announce the confirmed panelists will include:

Senate President Don Harmon (D-39)
Assistant Majority Leader Linda Holmes (D-42: Chair Senate Labor Committee)
Senator Ram Villivalam (D-8: Chair Senate Transportation Committee)

Each panelist will provide a 10-15 minute presentation on important issues facing our state that the Illinois General Assembly will tackle during the spring 2021 legislative session. A brief Q & A period will follow their presentations. This event will provide IMSCA members a unique opportunity to receive an “insider’s view” from key Illinois State Senators.
