The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) is pleased to present a special event called, “ECA NECAPAC Golf Outing.” This is an opportunity for Chapter members to not only participate in a golf outing on August 23, 2021 at Olympia Fields Country Club, 2800 Country Club Drive, Olympia Fields, IL 60461, (708) 748-0495 which includes lunch, food and beverages on the course, cocktails and reception, networking and fun giveaways; but, an opportunity to contribute to the NECAPAC.
You can also make a Company contribution to the NECA Administrative Fund if you are not comfortable donating personally to the PAC Fund. Learn more below.....

CDB Outreach Event (8/25/21)
|
The Capital Development Board (CDB) is hosting a construction outreach event on August 25, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The event will be held at the University of Illinois-Springfield campus, Student Union Building, 2nd Floor Ballrooms, 2251 Richard Wright Drive, Springfield, IL 62703.
This event is an in-person networking session to learn more about upcoming project opportunities with the CDB. The CDB will review major project bid opportunities that will be available over the next 18 months in Central Illinois with a total value of over half billion dollars. In addition to learning more about upcoming bid opportunities, attendees will receive information on CDB’s registration and pre-qualification processes, review delivery methods for these upcoming projects, and will have the opportunity to network with BEP/FEP and other partners.
Seating is limited and RSVP’s are required. RSVP to Jesse Martinez by emailing: Jesse.Martinez@Illinois.gov. Masks will be required regardless of vaccination status.

ELECTRI Council Room (8/25/21)

TAXES, TAXES EVERYWHERE… ELECRI International is pleased to announce that their August 25th Council Room will feature a discussion on Tax Strategies to Help Increase Cash Flow. Council member company Moss Adams will lead us through the opportunities for businesses to save money and increase cash flow using tax credits and incentives. We will review tax strategies business leaders can use to their advantage including the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) which came about as a result of the pandemic and older tax credit programs like Research and Development Tax Credits (R&D). We will hear directly from electrical contractors around the country to learn how they are leveraging tax credits and incentives to help bolster their business.

NECA Safety Meeting App Update(s)
|
The NECA Safety App delivers a robust, useful array of functional components that directly address contractors' needs in the field. Just recently, with the knowledge and expertise of NECA's Michael Johnston (NECA, Executive Director, Codes and Standards) and Jim Dollard (IBEW Local 98 Safety Coordinator, Retired), the NECA Safety App was expanded to include three essential components that focus specifically on employer requirements in NFPA 70E. The app will now provide components that provide a required set of procedures for:
- Lockout Tagout Processes (LOTO)
- Developing a Required Energized Electrical Work Permit (EEWP)
- Performing a Shock and Arc-flash Risk Assessment (SAFRA)
All are required by NFPA 70E to align with OSHA regulations.
