ECA is pleased to announce the launch of a "Diversity & Inclusive Training Program" designed to help Electrical Contractor’s foster a climate of inclusion, sensitivity, and respect in the workplace. Alex Willis, President of Leadership Surge, has designed a training program that will help business leaders create a culture of inclusiveness and respect within their company. Join us on January 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM, as ECA’s Diversity Committee, and Alex Willis, introduce this new training series for ECA members and their employees.

The recent surge in cases due to family gatherings and crowds celebrating the holidays have kept the pandemic in the forefront of daily activities. Staying vigilant and aware is the best defense against this worldwide pandemic.

NECA Government Affairs Year-End Review
NECA’s Government Affairs team spent the majority of 2020 communicating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the electrical construction industry to Members of Congress and ensuring that coronavirus response legislation would grant our members the resources necessary to help their businesses remain viable while not unnecessarily burdening them during these trying times.

The president signed the new COVID-19 Stimulus Bill into law on 12.27.2020. Prior to the new Stimulus Bill, the FFCRA paid leave program was set to expire on 12.31.2020. Of particular importance to NECA members, the new statute amends the FFCRA allowing employers to receive payroll tax credits for payments made under the FFCRA on or before March 31, 2021.....read more

The Illinois General Assembly returned to Springfield on January 8, 2021 to begin their 5-day lame duck session. Below is a link to a legislative update outlining issues that are expected to be debated in the coming days. In this update, you will find an overview of the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus agenda that was introduced this week. For your convenience, this report has also been added to IMSCA’s website, www.imsca.org. "Certified Transcript of Payroll" Webinar
Proper Implementation / IDOL Portal Ease of Use

The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Research and Education Committee is pleased to announce a webinar called, "Certified Transcript of Payroll." The seminar is being conducted by Ron Ward and Robert Parrilli, Illinois Department of Labor. The program will be a virtual event held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 beginning at 1:00 pm. The session will detail how contractors can submit their prevailing wage information easily through the IDOL Certified Transcript of Payroll Portal.

Electric Association CEAEF Scholarships Available
The Electric Association scholarship is awarded annually to a lineal descendant of an EA member, and is based on academic and personal achievements. Preference may be given to a student enrolling in a degree program that will lead to a career in the electrical industry. All ECA member firms are EA members.

Stipend Available
The ECA Executive Committee has approved the educational stipends of the Registration fees for up to two representatives of participating ECA member firms for the CSC Virtual Safety Conference on March 2 – 3, 2021.
