67th Annual Paddy's Day Luncheon - March 10, 2023

The 67th Annual Paddy’s Day Luncheon was held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Chicago Hilton & Towers. Over 700 guests attended the festive gathering of the many facets of the electrical contracting industry of Chicago. Highlights of the program include the following: Ken Gallagher, CEO of Paramount EO was the Big Shillelagh for 2023, the Shannon Rovers made an outstanding appearance, Tim Taylor, Assistant Manager of the Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) was awarded the 44^th Annual “Frances P. Cummins” Award – Tim was introduced by former Chapter Manager, Mark Nemshick, and next year’s Big Shillelagh was announced – Colleen Kramer, President of Evergreen Supply Company.

NECA Association Executive's Institute (AEI) March 6 - 8, 2023

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Convention & Trade Show is being held Friday, September 29, 2023 – Monday, October 2, 2023 in Philadelphia. To prepare for the Convention, NECA Chapter Executives from throughout the country participated in the Association Executive’s Institute (AEI) from March 6 – 8, 2023 in Philadelphia. Along with reviewing the hotel block, potential venues for Chapter events, the program held numerous “best practices” sessions. Chicago & Cook Chapter Manager, Mark Thomas was an integral part of a panel discussion called, “How Market Share is Affected by Business Development and Changes to the CBA.” We thank Mark for his insight during the session.

We look forward to a fun, successful Convention in the Fall!

The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) 51st Annual Spring Conference will be held on June 7 - 8, 2023 at The Abbey Resort in Fontana, Wisconsin. The Abbey Resort is ninety acres of unending lakeside experiences, as it is the only full-service resort on the shores of Lake Geneva, The Abbey Resort in Fontana, Wisconsin offers unique activities from lakeside dining to make and take events, along with resort amenities such as indoor and outdoor pools, family activities, live music, and of course, their full-service Avani Spa. We’re sure that this is reason enough to attend this Conference.

The Membership Golf Outing is at Abbey Springs on Wednesday morning with an 11:00 am Shotgun Start. IMSCA’s 2023 Lobby Day event will be held on Wednesday, April 26^th at the Sangamo Club located at 227 E. Adams Street, Springfield, IL.

Lobby Day activities will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m. and will include an abbreviated Board and Membership Meeting and a Special Guest Speaker (TBA). Lobby Day attendees will receive an overview of current legislation being considered by the Illinois General Assembly that has an impact on the Illinois construction industry. Most importantly, attendees will have the opportunity to visit their State Senators and Representatives at the Illinois State Capitol to discuss important legislative matters. Lunch will be provided upon arrival. This year’s event will also include a “Construction Industry Legislative Reception” co-hosted by the Illinois Mechanical & Specialty Contractors Association (IMSCA) and the Illinois Construction Industry Committee (ICIC) from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., also at the Sangamo Club.

All IMSCA members are encouraged to attend this event to discuss issues important to the Illinois construction industry with your legislators.
