ECA is pleased to announce the launch of a "Diversity & Inclusive Training Program" designed to help Electrical Contractor’s foster a climate of inclusion, sensitivity, and respect in the workplace. Alex Willis, President of Leadership Surge, has designed a training program that will help business leaders create a culture of inclusiveness and respect within their company. Join us on January 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM, as ECA’s Diversity Committee, and Alex Willis, introduce this new training series for ECA members and their employees. 
NECA Legal Alert: Labor & Employment Issues Related to COVID-19 Vaccines
As the availability of the COVID-19 vaccines broadens, so will the workplace and safety issues related to the actual administration and usage of these measures by individual employees. NECA members are well-advised to develop internal protocols on how the use (and non-use) of the vaccines will he handled in the workplace. The Equal Employment Opportunity (EEOC) has put out guidance concerning civil rights laws such as Title VII and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) during the pandemic. Most recently, the EEOC updated this guidance—found here—to address discrimination laws as they relate to COVID-19 vaccinations. COVID Assistance Program Announced
As we are all well aware, 2020 has been a very trying year for everyone, contractors and employees alike. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) and Local #134 (#134) have worked together along with the Electrical Insurance Trustees (EIT) to provide relief to those employees that have needed it, in the way of relaxed eligibility rules and a temporary increase for the supplemental unemployment benefit fund (SUB).  Read More.....

The Electric Association scholarship is awarded annually to a lineal descendant of an EA member, and is based on academic and personal achievements. Preference may be given to a student enrolling in a degree program that will lead to a career in the electrical industry. All ECA member firms are EA members.

DEADLINE APPROACHING!
Mandatory Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Must Be Completed By the End of the Year!
As you are aware, Senate Bill 75, Public Act 101-0221 was signed into law by Governor Pritzker in August 2019. Under this Act, Illinois employers are required to train employees on sexual harassment prevention by December 31, 2020, and on an annual basis thereafter. Please click on the link below for more information.

The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Research and Education Committee is pleased to announce a webinar called, "Certified Transcript of Payroll." The seminar is being conducted by Ron Ward and Robert Parrilli, Illinois Department of Labor. The program will be a virtual event held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 beginning at 1:00 pm. The session will detail how contractors can submit their prevailing wage information easily through the IDOL Certified Transcript of Payroll Portal.
