Find Free, Appealing, Nutritious Summer Meals for Children 18 and Younger

Do you need help finding food for your child? To find the sites nearest you:  Text FOOD to 304-304 and provide your full address, zip code or city.

You will receive a text back with the location of the closest meal sites and serving times. You can also call 2-1-1 to speak with an operator 24/7 who can help locate meal sites and other resources.

• Call 1-866-3-HUNGRY (1-866-348-6479) or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (1-877-842-6273) (Spanish) to find summer meals. 

• Use the NC Site Finder Map. The NC Site Finder Map is for families and the general public to find free nutritious meals for children in North Carolina. The map will be updated at least weekly during the traditional summer operating months (June - August). 

ECAC's Painting the Big Picture resources is a great way to introduce your child to anyone new that may be working with them. This can include summer camp staff, childcare providers, service providers and their new teachers in the fall. The Right to Education Project (REP) is the statewide education justice project of Legal Aid of North Carolina that fights for students in the public education system to get access to the quality education they have a right to, and to end the school to prison pipeline. REP works to protect North Carolina public school students, including those in charter schools.

DRNC enforces the education rights of students with disabilities ages 3 through 22 who attend public schools in our state. The law requires schools to teach students with disabilities in the school building except in very rare cases. Additionally, schools must use effective instruction that meets the student’s individual needs. Schools must teach them even if they have severe disabilities or challenging behaviors.
