Weekly news from
Eagle County Charter Academy
Volume 10, Issue 1
REMINDERS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Welcome to this year's first issue of
Hawk Talk , ECCA's weekly newsletter. This is our
primary mode of communication to our families  so if there is someone you would like to add to this weekly newsletter, please click the  Join  tab at the bottom of the email. In keeping with our 'green initiative', this weekly email will reduce the amount of paper sent home. Please email us with any comments you may have. If you have a submission for Hawk Talk, please send it to hawktalk@ecca.org
Returning Families Mandatory Update REQUIRED
Please make sure to complete the online registration when it becomes available.  This is a necessary step annually. The district is currently working towards troubleshooting the issues in order to roll this out to all families. This email is specific to each student and assigns an individualized login and password per student. Keep checking your email inbox.
*Returning students only*
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Weeding Needed
Do you have a few hours to beautify the front of our school? If you and the kids have any time before school starts, it is a fun way to fulfill some of your volunteer hours. Come by anytime that works for you. Please see Kim Walter with questions.
Lunch Duty

We are looking for volunteers to help set up, serve, assist the smaller children,  clean up, and maintain the calm during lunch.  Contact E rin Hasemann if interested at erin.hasemann@eagleschools.net

Ice Cream Social:

charter garb
Charter Garb
Order and pay for your Charter Garb through ecca.org. Orders will be delivered to your student's classroom no later than Tuesday, 8/20.
The Charter Garb store will also be open for business during the Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, 8/14 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Drop Off/Pick Up
Just to review a few procedures...

Drop Off 7:45-7:55
Please know that if you drop your child off prior to 7:45 there is no supervision in the parking lot or on the playground. Adult supervision is provided starting at 7:45 every morning.

Please pull all the way forward to either the stop sign or the car parked in front of you to drop off your child.
For their safety, please have children exit the vehicle from the right side only.

Pick Up 3:15 Lower School and 3:20 Middle School
Pick up is only in the far right lane. There are only 2 lanes of traffic, 1 for pick up and 1 to exit. Please remember that Middle School is released from class at 3:20 so they will probably not be outside right at 3:20.

If your child is not available at the time you are picking up we will ask you to go around. You may pull into the exit lane from the pick up lane once you have picked up your child.

Please make sure to use our crosswalks when moving to and from parked cars for your safety.
Lunch Reminders
MONDAYS
Pizza Mondays are back again! Gondola Pizza will provide cheese and pepperoni pizza. A count will be taken Monday morning in the student's classrooms.

TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY
Catered hot lunch including a salad bar. (No sack lunches will be offered for purchase.) During daily roll call, students are asked to sign up for lunch that day so ECCA knows how many lunches to order. Please review the monthly menus in advance with your child so that your student knows what days to sign up for to ensure enough lunches are available.

FRIDAYS
Smiling Moose will provide a choice of macaroni and cheese, bagel w/cream cheese, ham sandwich, cheese quesadilla, chicken noodle soup or a Caesar salad.
