Immunization Requirements
*INCOMING 6th Graders :  ALL students entering 6th grade are required to receive a Tdap vaccine (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) after age 11 and prior to entering 6th grade.  Please provide updated Colorado Certificate of Immunization prior to the first day of school.
 
*Varicella Vaccine:   As of 2015, ALL students are required by ACIP and CDE to receive 2 doses of the varicella vaccine.  Most students have already met this requirement, but please be sure to check with your child's medical provider for updated proof of vaccination.
 
*Vaccine Exemptions:
  If you have previously signed a personal exemption for any vaccine, a proposal has been submitted to the Colorado Board of Health that will require annual re-signing of exemptions. 

Annual Update
Look for an email regarding the REQUIRED Annual Update from Lorri McGarvey via SchoolMessenger on July 22, 2019. Please take the time to complete this update before school resumes in August.

Teachers:
 
* Beth Raitt - K-8 PE Teacher: Beth taught 5 th -8 th PE at ECCA this past year and she will be picking up all grade levels for the next school year.  Beth has over 15 years of experience teaching PE and working in administration. 

*Caroline Sterkel  - 4th grade Teacher: Caroline previously taught 5th-8th grade writing here at ECCA and has endorsements in both elementary education & secondary English Language Arts.   She brings over 10 years of experience teaching students in both elementary & middle school and holds a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Boston College.



Teaching Assistants:

*Missy Purpus  - K-4 Teaching Assistant: Missy joined ECCA in the middle of the 18-19 school year.  She is returning next year in her role to support flooding and K-4 math.   She brings a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Minnesota State University.  

*Kerry White - K-4 Teaching Assistant: Kerry previously worked for Vail Resorts in IT and has many years experience working with kids as a ski instructor and swimming coach. She has a master's degree in education from the University of New England, Australia.

*Sarah Bechard - K-8 Teaching Assistant: Sarah is returning to the Vail Valley after living abroad for the past few years.  She will be working in many capacities at ECCA as a teaching assistant. Sarah has a master's degree in special education from the University of Colorado at Denver.  

*Kailey Gorbold  - 5th- 8th Teaching Assistant: Kailey worked at ECCA in 2010 - 2012 as a teaching assistant and even completed her student teaching here.  Kaily holds a Colorado teaching license for elementary education.

*Mary Hawkins - After School Program Teacher: Mary will be working in the after school program on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Previously, she worked as a librarian at RSES and HPS and brings a depth of experience working with students.

Football is offered at BCMS, EVMS, GCMS & St. Clare. Interested students should reach out to those schools directly.  Click here for contact information.  The season typically starts the first week of school. 

ECCA relies on parent volunteers  for coaching staff.
If you have an interest in coaching any of the above  sports please email  Kim Walter .  We are especially in need of volleyball coaches at all 3 grade levels.


Athletes and their parents must review and complete the following prior to the first practice:
