Welcome to another exciting new school year!
The children had an awesome first week in their new classes. It was fun seeing so many new faces and old ones as well. The teachers have spent many hours fixing up the classrooms and they have created the perfect learning environments.

Back to School Night
Elementary and ECEC Parents
Tuesday, August 27th
6:30-8:00 PM
Back to School Night is about learning, but this time for the grown-ups in our children's lives. We are working with our faculty and staff to bring you an evening of information, fellowship, and hopefully learning about how we can partner to serve our children best. You'll hear our voices, learn about the plans we have, and then we can walk together as a blessed community. We will start in the Sanctuary as a whole campus with families of two-year-olds all the way through eighth graders all in the same space. We are a family of families, so we want everyone at the table this evening! Festivities start at 6:30 PM and extend to 8 PM. This is a parent meeting and we encourage families not to bring children. If you need Childcare please contact Mrs. Knapp . So we have enough staff plese RSVP to Mrs. napp on or before Monday, August 26th, at 12:00PM.
Here's to a great night, together...learning!
Classroom Teachers
There have been some exciting changes to our staff. We welcome Miss Jackie to our Zion staff. She is the 2 year old teacher this year, and a recent graduate of Concordia University in Nebraska with a major in early childhood. Ms. Patty is our break/closing teacher and now will be able to be with ALL her children! Our 3 year old teachers are Mrs. Irby and Mrs. Sylvia. Mrs. Valdez and Mrs. Linda are teaching the PreK/TK classes. Returning as the afternoon/closing teacher is Mrs. Nina and Miss Jasmine as the helper in the 2 year old room.
Hot Lunch
We are using a new system to make the ordering process of hot lunch, and pizza easier for you. Orders will be taken through the RenWeb Parent Web and billed through FACTs . This is a new process to the office staff and we thank you in advance for your patience as we work out any kinks that may occur during the implementation of this process.

Starting in September pizza orders will no longer be accepted in the classrooms on Friday pizza days. All pizza will need to be pre-ordered on the hot lunch monthly menu found on the Renweb ParentWeb.

How to order Lunch:
Use and log into your ParentsWeb Click on student and drop down menu will appear and click on Lunch. If you have not set this up go to use the district code ZL-CA to create a ParentsWeb account.

New Rates
Reminder the rates will be changing. The new rates will begin September 2019. There will be a reminder in the cubbies of your tuition amount.

Zion ECEC has three teachers who have been serving Zion for 30+ years! Can you guess???

It’s Mrs. Sylvia, Mrs. Valdez and Ms. Patty! Well done, good and faithful servants!
Zion PTSL (Parent-Teacher-Student League) would like to extend a very warm “WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL” to all new and returning Zion families!! We are very excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year and have plenty of fun activities and events planned for the year!

I just wanted to share a few updates with you –
·          Sunday’s Open House/Ministry Fair was a great success and it was wonderful to see so many new and familiar faces again! We also kicked off our 2-day Scholastic Book Fair on Sunday. The Book Fair helps raise Scholastic Dollars, which in turn help our teachers purchase classroom book sets and update their classroom libraries. Thank you to all of those who purchased books!

·          Wednesday August 21 st , was our very first PTSL meeting of the year! If you weren’t able to make it, don’t worry! We meet once a month on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Just so you know, you do not have to pay to join the PTSL nor do you have to be a member to attend a meeting. Interested in learning more about what PTSL does and volunteering at our events? Stop by at our next meeting to find out how you can help!

·          Tuesday, August 27 th is Back to School Night – hope to meet each and every one of you there!

·          On Thursday, August 29 th , we will be kicking off our annual Fall Fundraiser ! I know many of you might be thinking, “We just started school and we are already fundraising?!” Well I would just like to explain why we do this. The PTSL hosts many fun (and free!) events throughout the year… such as Lego Star Wars Night, Moms and Muffins, Dads and Donuts, and Grandparents Day, just to name a few… We also like to go all out for our teachers and staff during Staff Appreciation Week, birthdays, and Christmas to express how much we LOVE and appreciate all they do for the school. Which is why we run two major fundraisers (one in the Fall and one in the Spring) – this helps maintain our budget to pay for these events and expenses. Please be on the lookout for a packet to come home on the 29 th – any little bit helps!

Looking forward to a WONDERFUL school year!
