I am looking forward to seeing you at our Annual Conference - the locale is simply amazing, and if my past tasting of New Mexico's cuisine is any guide, it promises to be delectable. The conference schedule is packed with informative sessions, and we are pleased to feature the "erVa Listening Session" below. Curious? Read on.

Hope your Spring semester is off to a good start, and some much-needed calm has returned to your department. It is now time to start tackling the world's biggest challenges. One "weird mixture of opportunity and challenge" that became center stage recently is Generative Artificial Intelligence (G-AI), as exemplified by ChapGPT and DALL-E. We discussed these in our December issue of the ECEDHA Source. The big question is - how do we deal with these new technologies in our classrooms and research labs? Despite the dense "fog of technological shifts" before us, and all of the bruit, the strategy for dealing with G-AI is one that we have employed throughout our professional lives as we discuss below.

First, in this issue of the ECEDHA Source, we are delighted to feature another great ECE Conversation, a new video format in which we invite an ECE thought leader to a conversation. We are delighted to feature our second such conversation with Professor Michael Devetsikiotis at the University of New Mexico on the topic of the upcoming ECEDHA conference. In our traditional format, we are delighted to spotlight The University of Toronto's success at building a first-year class with over 40% women - an enviable and admirable achievement. It is clear that Chair Deepa Kundur's leadership is exceptional, and we can all learn from her initiative. Finally, we are delighted to spotlight our colleague Anthony Maciejewski who is now at NSF leading the NSF Division of Electrical, Communications, and Cyber Systems.

We look forward to seeing you in person at the 2023 ECEDHA Annual Conference and ECExpo (Conference: March 17-20, 2023 and ECExpo: March 18-19, 2023) in scenic Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. Remember that the Electric Power Engineering workshop on the topic of "Building a Robust Workforce in Electric Power Engineering" will also be taking place alongside the Annual Conference, March 16-17, 2023.
