Dear Members,

Our team at ECESC is very excited to serve our member districts during the 2024-2025 school year. We have planned several exciting opportunities to support your work with students. Please do not hesitate to contact me or any team member about any of these opportunities.

  • We are very excited to launch the Forge Your Future career awareness experience for middle school students this year at Sunnyside Education Center in New Castle. In anticipation of our first student groups, we will provide educators with several opportunities to visit our RIASEC rooms and get a taste of the experience and its potential impact on students. These experiences will be free to all ECESC educators (a stipend will also be provided for evening sessions) – more information is below. Also, please contact Taylor Philhower at tphilhower@eastcentralesc.com to begin planning student visits.
  • We will be launching our second new and beginning teacher cohort next month. These sessions will be led by Sarah Heppner, Dr. Lora Wilson, and Paula Fiscus. Sarah and Paula are former Instructional Coaches, and Lora is a veteran elementary administrator. We will provide differentiated pathways for new teachers (year one) and educators in years two to five. We will also differentiate support for elementary and secondary educators. More information will be coming soon! Below is some feedback from last year's cohort:

"I feel more educated on effective classroom management strategies.

The presenter was very engaging, understanding, and knowledgeable."

"So helpful. I wish I had it two years ago!"

"I got SO many helpful strategies and ideas."

  • Several professional development opportunities are planned to help you launch your school year successfully. These opportunities include Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), observation and evaluation training for administrators, planning for ILEARN Math success, Student-Centered Coaching, and designing PLCs that make an impact. More information is below. We look forward to hosting educators from across our region for these events, and we hope you will join us!
  • Affinity groups are virtual networking opportunities that provide regional connections to those in the same role. Join us to chat about the topics that you need help maneuvering. Topics are determined by those who participate and will vary with YOUR needs. Each of the groups we currently offer is shared below. Click on the link to register and join us. Mark your calendar for the groups that fit your needs.
  • We are hosting a Cooperative Purchasing Lunch and Learn on September 27. This free event will cover how we connect your district to increased savings opportunities through our Cooperative Purchasing resources! Click here to learn more and register. This event is open to all staff involved in purchasing and business operations.

We are here to serve you and your colleagues with support and collaboration. We wish you the very best in the 2024-25 school year.
