ECESF Newsletter
September 12, 2024
| |
Hello Sara,
ECESF is looking forward to again coming together as on-site center teacher, coach, and administrative staff to identify best ways to ensure those doing the work are at the forefront of shaping the supports that sustain and improve ECE quality and working conditions at our next in-person ECESF Community Gathering on September 28. Interested in joining us? If you haven’t yet, fill out an ECESF interest form. (The interest form only needs to be filled out one time unless you have a change of sites, job roles, or contact information.) We’ll be reaching out to all interested center-based staff for our next gathering and future events throughout the year.

While over 50% of our city's ECE teachers are Asian, we are not doing enough to listen to their needs or provide sufficient support for them to work effectively with the diversities within the Asian community and with Black and Latino families. A group of volunteers has been working on formulating the Asian Early Childhood Education Alliance (AECEA) network, aiming to collaborate with existing stakeholders to promote cross-cultural learning for Asian teachers, using languages they can comprehend more precisely.
