TREASURERS' TRAINING WORKSHOPS
JULY 14, 2022
ECOEA will be hosting the OEA President and the Treasurer Trainings on Thursday, July 14, in Silk Auditorium at Stark State College, 6200 Frank Rd. NW, North Canton. A full day of association leadership is being planned including internet security, elections training, sessions for both novice and experienced treasurers, and local presidents' training. The training will be held in-person as part of our Summer Leadership series with a continental breakfast and lunch provided. Register at the button below. ECOEA Retired members enjoyed the OEA-Retired Spring Conference on May 17 at the Warther Museum in Dover. ECOEA,EOEA and SEOEA were the host districts for this annual event. ECOEA rep to the OEA-Retired Advvisory Council Kathleen Purdy did a great job planning and hosting the event for the members. The Warther Museum is a local gem right here in the ECOEA district that provided an outstandingl venue for the conference with the amazingly intricate carvings of Ernest Warther and the unusual button collection of his wife. ECOEA at the NEA Representative Assembly-
Delegates from ECOEA will be representing their locals, the district, and the state of Ohio at the upcoming NEA Representative Assembly, one of the largest democratic gatherings in the US, on July 3-6, 2022, in Chicago,.The NEA RA has been virtual the past two years, and this year, NEA is offering a hybrid RA. Delegates have a choice of attending in person following a very strict COVID protocol, or participating virtually as they have the past two years.

ECOEA at the OEA SUMMER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
Ten members from ECOEA attended the OEA Summer Leadership Academy this week in Columbus and chose sessions from several strands to meet their association, leadership, and professional needs. We are proud to say that all ten members were able to receive scholarships to attend from ECOEA or OEA. Members attended from Wooster EA, Beaver Local EA, North Canton EA, and Canton Professional EA. East Central OEA, as part of the District Leaders Committee, hosted a table in a Poker Run activity to raise funds for the Ohio Fund (formerly FCPE). Academy members were also able to attend the Say No to 616 Rally at the Statehouse to speak against HB 616.

Wooster member Karen Linch participated in the Say No to HB 616 rally at the Statehouse in the June 16 heat.
Beaver Local EA members Lisa Farmer and Matt Newman attended the OEA Summer Leadership Academy.

ECOEA AT THE OEA FOUNDATION GALA CELEBRATION OF OEA'S 175th ANNIVERSARY
ECOEA was proud to help sponsor the OEA 175th Anniversary Gala and support the work of the OEA Educational Foundation through an online and live auction.

Outgoing OEA Board of Directors member Dr. Geneva Parker, Canton Professional EA, and her husband Darrell Parker enjoyed the Gala. Dr. Parker is completing six years on the Board and will continue to be on the ECOEA Executive Committee as a Stark County Rep.
