GET READY FOR SUMMER PD WITH ECOEA!

We've got two great sessions lined up for members this summer with two very knowledgeable Education Policy Consultants from OEA! Register now and mark your calendar to spend the day with us online. Earn up to four hours of Professional Development online at no cost!

Regarding Licensure-presented by Ellen Adornetto. Ellen will discuss the new pre-service teacher permit that is coming online, the changes to the RE license and how RE is managed through the SBOE, and the licensure fees, changes, requirements and more of the demands on public education employees to do their jobs.

PBIS: It's not all points and parties-presented by Daria DeNoia. All educators encounter students who exhibit challenging behaviors, and Ohio requires that schools implement PBIS frameworks to address these challenges. But what is PBIS? Does PBIS need to include points and parties? Can educator voice be included in the decision-making process? During this session we will define and discuss Ohio’s PBIS law, learn about collaborative implementation of PBIS frameworks; share examples of PBIS implementation in school settings; discuss tools that help examine root causes of challenging student behaviors; and reflect on how educators and their Union can advocate for strong and effective PBIS frameworks that improve the working and learning environments for educators and their students..
