Our October meetings are going to be fantastic! Here’s the lineup:
On Thursday and Friday, Linda, Steve and Andrea will unveil the 2026 Raffle Quilt, which I hear is gorgeous! Raffle tickets will be on sale at both meetings.
Clare Scheuren, owner of Stitched in Marietta, is a Diamond level Quilt Show Sponsor! Thank you, Clare! One of the benefits of that sponsorship is that Stitched will be bringing us a pop-up shop at both our meetings this month. See below for details.

Finally, our Matriotism Challenge is coming to fruition! All the Challenge quilts will be displayed in our meeting room and outside hallway on Friday morning. The Evening Group will see their quilts and those collected in September. Voting will be open online for all members after the General meeting. Our first public Matriotism exhibit will be in January 2026 at the Atlanta History Center. Thank you to all the members who are participating in this Challenge. Also, a huge thank you to our Matriotism Committee, which has been working so diligently over the past year on this special project. This Committee includes Joan Roeber-Jones, Robin Meyer, Chris Ison, Devon Pfeif, Linda Bailey and Carolyn Powers. Thank you!
See you at the October meeting and Happy Halloween!

Is there anything more special than reminiscing with friends? Looking back on the years reminds us of all we’ve accomplished together and the memories we've shared. In March of 2026, Mary Ellen Von Holt and Libby Lowe will present a unique and heartfelt program, Georgia Celebrates Quilts – A Quilt Show Retrospective.
Their program will take us on a journey through time as we revisit the highlights from nearly four decades of quilt shows. From the first vibrant quilts to the most recent works of art, this retrospective will celebrate the artistry, passion, and friendships that have defined our community. We look forward to celebrating the memories we’ve created together over the past 40 years and to the stories yet to be told in 2026!
Do you have photos from our Guild's past quilt shows that you would like to share? Your contributions will help bring this program to life. Especially needed are photos from before 2011. Please click here and share with us!

As always, thank you for all the Community Service projects that are turned in each month. Your generosity is so appreciated!
October is our last meeting of the year to turn in Community Service projects. We will accept teddy bears and NICU pillowcases in December at the holiday party.
There will not be any free tables at the October and December meetings. Please save your donations for January.
Community Service month has been moved to January. We will have our annual parade of quilts and speakers from some of the organizations that we support.
Thank you to all who attended our October Sewcial. If you haven’t attended a Sewcial this year, please make it a priority next year. It is a great opportunity to get to know other members as we sew together.

Thank you so much for your smiles and warm welcomes for visitors and new members to our Guild. Once people have joined, the next step is learning to put names and faces together, which means your nametags are so important.
You can have a "plain Jane" sharpie name tag - or you might want to get your creative juices flowing, and make one. We have recently compiled a group of nametag patterns - you can check them out on our website.
| | If you love meeting people and telling them about our Guild, we’d love to have you as a greeter. Greeters are the welcoming face of our Guild to visitors and new members. If you are a new member and would like to be a greeter – we’d be glad to pair you with a Guild member to show you the ropes! You can sign up to be a greeter here. Questions? Email Linda Lopez. | | |
As of the end of September, we had 370 members. Our fall "membership special" started October 1, when you can join for the 2026 annual membership fee of $40 and get the three remaining months of 2025 for free! Be part of the fun NOW by clicking our Join Us link. For our current members, our renewal drive will start on December 1.
Please welcome our new members: Anne Grabois-Davis, Joellen Holmes, and Cathy Marbury. 142 members attended our August meeting and 25 members attended the Evening Group meeting.
Questions about membership? Email Carolyn Powers or come by the membership table.
