Dear Eagle Community,
Welcome back friends! We knew it was coming, and here we are - Back to School in America! We consider it a great privilege to partner with parents across our four campuses to provide our students with a CHRIST-centered education. The mission of ECS is focused and intentional: to empower students to embrace a Biblical worldview through spiritual and academic growth, servant leadership, and authentic relationships in the name of Jesus Christ. And we get to pursue that mission with 3-year-olds up through our graduating senior Class of 2022!
The Friday Flyer will be emailed to all parents, grandparents, and 6th - 12th grade students each Friday throughout the school year. Be sure to read the Friday Flyer each week to stay updated - this is the PRIMARY SOURCE of important school information.
We have worked extremely hard to be prepared for this school year. We are so grateful for our new building, yet still dealing with the echoes of COVID. If I can ask anything, it will always be patience and kindness. Those two qualities can solve a whole lot. :)
Stay connected and informed throughout the year by following us on Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to "like" and "share" our posts to help spread the word about how God is moving here at ECS!
Praise the Lord!
In Service,
Mike Allen
Head of School

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & REMINDERS
PARKING LOT SAFETY - Use caution and allow extra time when dropping off/picking up students. Please do not use your cell phone while driving on school grounds. Do not park along the curbs or in grass, park only in lined spaces, do not use the handicap spaces without need, and do not drive through areas marked off with orange cones. At the Elementary Campus, cross only in the crosswalks from the parking lot to the school.
PUNCTUALITY - After the tardy bell rings (8 a.m. at Preschool & Elementary Campuses; 8:10 a.m. at Middle School & High School Campuses), students in grades PS-6 must come to the school office WITH A PARENT to get an admittance slip. Middle School and High School students must sign in at the school office for an admittance slip.
BUS TRANSPORTATION - Most of our bus routes are FULL, and we still have students requesting transportation. If you have completed a form for bus transportation but have realized that you do not need to use it, please notify Denise McGuyer as soon as possible to free up a spot for another student.
STUDENT ACCOUNTS - Account statements are emailed around the 15th of each month, due on the 1st of the next month. You can pay account balances easily through two easy electronic ways - use FACTS PayNow feature to make a designated bank transfer or have ECS establish an automatic monthly bank transfer on each 1st or 15th of the month. Our Business Office is located inside the Elementary Campus and can accept cash, check, or money order as forms of payment. However, all other campuses can accept checks or exact cash only. As a reminder, we encourage parents to take advance of ACH and PayNow options to pay their monthly charges.
STUDENT BREAKFAST - is available in the Elementary Campus cafeteria and at the Preschool Campus from 7:30-7:45 a.m. for students who are not enrolled in Before School Care (BSC). For students who are enrolled in BSC, student breakfast is available during BSC.

2021/22 SCHOOL MEALS - (Preschool, Elementary, & Middle School Campuses ONLY, as these campuses are currently part of the National School Lunch Program )
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved to offer free lunch to all students regardless of income. This includes Breakfast as well, and students will receive their meals for FREE this school year.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Students must take the required components to make a reimbursable meal in order for it to be free. How students make a reimbursable meal will be posted/displayed in the cafeteria or during meal delivery. The cashier or other school staff will help students take a full reimbursable meal.
- If students purchase extra milk or entrees the student will be charged for these items.
- Nothing needs to be sent to the school in order to have a student receive meals for free. Free meals are automatically offered to all students regardless of income.
- Families that believe they would qualify for free and reduced meals normally, it’s still important to submit a Free & Reduced Lunch application as this can help with qualifying for other assistance programs, such as textbook reimbursement. Benefits from completing applications stretch far beyond the cafeteria and impact students in the classroom and at home. All information submitted in these applications is private and confidential.
- Free & Reduced Meal applications will be available starting on Back-to-School Night on August 16. Applications will be in your packets, at the school offices, and on FACTS under resource documents.

Any questions please contact Nerissa Foor, Business Manager.

PHYSICAL & IMMUNIZATION FORMS - Updated health forms must be on file with the Health Coordinator. If your child's physical is scheduled in the near future, please have the physician's office fax a letter to the school stating the date of the scheduled appointment (per the Health Department's requirement). The ECS fax number is 812.469.0261.
-
All new students entering all grades must have a Physical & Immunization History provided by the child's physician.
-
Any students entering Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade (even those enrolled at ECS the previous year) need an updated Physical & Immunization History provided by the child's physician. Also click here to download a health history form that should be completed by the parent.
MEDICAL, ALLERGY, AND ASTHMA PLANS - If your child has a physician-issued Medical Plan, Allergy Plan or Asthma Plan, you need to update the plan every year and have a copy on file with the Health Coordinator. Updated plans, as well as all medication listed on the plan, should be turned in to the Campus Health Coordinator. Contact Kellie Snowden with any questions.

WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT COVID-19
COVID REPORTING - Please call BOTH the attendance line at 812-477-7777 and call your child's campus office for reporting a positive COVID case in your household or a member of your household being tested.
It is important that all COVID-related situations continue to be reported to campus principals or campus health coordinators. Quarantine timelines can span anywhere from 7 to 24 days or more, so even when a family experiences COVID over a school break, student quarantines do not necessarily end when school resumes.
Please contact campus principals or campus health coordinators to report any of the following: 1) Students experiencing COVID symptoms; 2) Household members experiencing COVID symptoms; 3)Household members being tested for COVID.
COVID SCREENING GUIDE FOR PARENTS - Every morning, parents should utilize this daily screening tool from the Indiana State Department of Health to determine whether or not to send your child to school.
