Motility study referrals

At ECU Health Medical Center, Dr. Mohamed Khalaf offers a number of gastrointestinal motility studies for the diagnosis of concerns like achalasia and dysphagia, GERD, anorectal dysfunction, PPI failure, and more.


To refer a patient, complete and fax the referral form to 252-744-3911 or submit a request through EHR using the following:

Enhanced Provider Onboarding Program (EPOE) for new providers

The Enhanced Provider Onboarding Experience (EPOE) is designed to enhance physician and credentialed provider knowledge, capacity, competency and confidence to successfully lead themselves, their teams, and systems of care. Through a series of self-awareness and leadership development experiences, relationship-building opportunities, focused content and exposure to organizational resources, providers build a mindset of growth, compassion and safety.

ECU cardiac psychology program attracts students, national recognition

On the heels of marking its 15th year, East Carolina University’s nationally unique postgraduate program in clinical health psychology continues to gain momentum — and national recognition— through positive patient outcomes.


ECU’s doctoral program in health psychology, more specifically in cardiac psychology, is a collaboration between ECU’s departments of psychology and cardiovascular sciences that has yielded a unique program.
