Destination Queenstown in NYC at Serafina on July 19th
Known as the adventure capital of the world, Queenstown is home to a range of adventures, from the world's first and most famous bungy jumps. There's bungee jumping off Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge and jet-boating on the Shotover and Dart rivers. In winter, there's skiing on the slopes of The Remarkables and Coronet Peak.
Queenstown sits on the shores of the South Island’s Lake Wakatipu, set against the dramatic Southern Alps. Renowned for adventure sports, it’s also a base for exploring the region’s vineyards and historic mining towns. New Zealand's South Island is larger than the North Island and generally considered more beautiful. It also has gorgeous coastline, but it is best known for the many mountains and fjords that define its inland.

Melia Hotels International
Melia Hotels International opened its first luxury hotel in Barcelona under its ME brand. The new-build ME Barcelona opened on November 25 on the Passeig de Gracia and features 164 rooms and suites over 14 floors. My most recent stay at a Melia brand hotel was at the ME Barcelona.
The interior design of rooms features natural tones with yellow hues, clean lines and large windows, along with bright translucent bathrooms, plus bespoke pieces such as decorative glass bottles made by Josep Ma Jujol, Gaudi’s close collaborator.
ME Barcelona is located steps away from shopping and less than a mile away from the center. Rodolfo Cresta and the VP of Melia Hotels International are in the recent photo.

Pelješac Bridge Open for Traffic July 26th
A midnight opening ceremony featuring folk dancers, singing and a huge fireworks display was held on Wednesday on the Pelješac Bridge after the final segment of its span was installed.
The 2.4-kilometer-long bridge connects the Croatian mainland with the Pelješac Peninsula of its southernmost Dubrovnik-Neretva County, bypassing a short strip of land belonging to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and giving Croatia its long-awaited territorial integrity and better access to the area.
The construction, at a cost of 420 million euros ($500m), is 85 percent financed by the EU and is a rare Chinese project in Europe that went through a regular bidding process.
During the ceremony, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said the bridge represents “a fascinating strategic accomplishment of the Croatian people and their state” that fulfils their longtime dream to have the Adriatic coastline connected.
On a journey from Dubrovnik to Split, the driver had to drive through Bosnia and Herzegovina to get to the other side of Croatia. However, it gave us an opportunity to make a detour to visit a small village called Medjugorje (where the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared in 1981) before continuing on to Split. The trip from Dubrovnik to Split was memorable.

LYCHEES are in season
Lychees originated in the regions of South China. Wild-lychee trees can still be found as one of the dominant tree species of tropical rainforests in southern provinces such as Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan. The fruit was used as a delicacy in the Chinese Imperial Court. Pictured here is Lychee with Almond Jelly, a popular Cantonese dessert.
Native to Southeastern Asia including Vietnam and Malaysia, this golf ball-sized tropical fruit looks similar to a strawberry. Its bumpy skin covers a translucent white flesh that’s a good source of Vitamin B, Vitamin C and potassium. It’s juicy and delicious. The lychee fruit has a sweet, aromatic taste to it. Some people say it tastes like a grape with a hint of rose, while others claim it tastes more like a pear or watermelon. You decide.
Make mine a lychee martini!!

Summer means happy times, good sunshine, and hot weather.
Happiness is…a glass of cold water after a walk home in this heat wave.
Keep cool and hydrated.
