BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT UPDATES

The Business Development team had the opportunity to attend multiple business attraction engagements in March. The team met with nation-wide site selectors, developers, real estate brokers and companies, offering Northern Nevada as an ideal site location for live data center, advanced manufacturing and clean energy opportunities.

Area Development:

Heather Wessling-Grosz and Danielle Randol represented EDAWN in San Antonio at the Area Development Consultants Forum, an exclusive event limited to 135 invited attendees. The interactive program provided the opportunity to engage face-to-face with 20 site consultants and gain valuable insights into the latest industry trends.

Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC):

IAMC's Spring Forum focused on core corporate real estate business practice areas and their programming blends targeted professional development with world-class knowledge sharing. Amanda Berry represented EDAWN in Sacramento, California. 

NAIOP:

NAIOP - ICON WEST is the premier event exclusively focused on the development, operation and expansion of industrial real estate and is the nation's largest gathering of industrial real estate professionals. Heather Wessling-Grosz had the opportunity to travel with Storey County's Clay Mitchell and Lara Mather to Los Angeles, California. They met with the Italian Trade Delegation at the Consulate and toured an EV Truck and Battery Manufacturing company with a preferred interest in Northern Nevada for expansion.

Thirteen new qualified leads entered the pipeline, and the Business Development team hosted eleven site visits for the month of March.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT UPDATES

Nevadaworks has one session left in their workshop series presenting “Skills-First-Hiring” with an employer workshop on key topics important to HR/Recruiting leaders to assist with filling open roles. This series is sponsored by Nevadaworks and the U.S. EDA Good Jobs Challenge. Subjects will include a review of best practices in multiple areas of talent attraction. RSVP here.

BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION UPDATES

The team hosted its’ first Business Builders training series for 15 of our investors preparing to become certified volunteers for the program, which will officially launch on May 5th. This program is designed to strengthen and support our local primary businesses, helping them thrive and grow in our region. Interested in getting involved? Fill out the interest form here.

In March, our Business Retention Team had the pleasure of meeting with 23 local primary company business leaders. These in-person visits led to the exciting discovery of 4 new jobs being added, with an additional 6 jobs projected for next year. We’re thrilled to see such positive growth in our community!
