Registration for Reno Startup Week 2025

is officially open!


Registration is now open for Reno Startup Week 2025, happening September 29 to October 3 and headquartered at the Reno Experience District (RED). Now in its third year, this free, weeklong celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship is presented by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN), the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), and the Nevada Small Business Development Center (SBDC), with support from more than 40 local businesses, nonprofits, and agencies. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT UPDATES

Bitdeer Industrial Inc. is a publicly traded cryptocurrency company. The company manufactures computer components and assembles crypto mining machines. The company is establishing a new facility in Dermody's Industrial Park, LogistiCenter at Kiley Ranch, in Sparks. Bitdeer's footprint spans all parts of the world and is advancing AI and hyperscale data centers in addition to expanding its cryptocurrency industry sites. The executive team will be hiring 100+ competitive jobs in the next 5 years at an average wage of $37.24 per hour. Bitdeer provides 100% healthcare benefits to all of its employees. 

EDAWN’s Business Development and Attraction Team works to secure new expansion facilities and/or relocations from new primary companies exploring the Greater Reno-Sparks market. The team acts as a concierge service for companies, providing customized market data, responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) from site selectors and companies considering major investments in both real estate and resulting in high quality employment growth for the region.

Earlier this month, Reno had the honor of hosting Clutch City, a dynamic live storytelling event that puts founders in the spotlight. Created by entrepreneur and speaker David Ezell, Clutch City celebrates vulnerability, grit, and the real journey of building something from nothing. PARTNER UPDATES

PBS Reno delivered 6,794 Curiosity Classroom workshops, 904 robotics workshops, and 47,314 free books to more than 128,000 students across nine school districts during the 2024–2025 school year! These free, STEM-based workshops—endorsed by the University of Nevada, Reno College of Education—bring hands-on lessons to Pre-K through 4th grade classrooms. Learn more about the program here.

The Moonridge Foundation, dedicated to advancing community well-being through strategic giving, collaboration, and innovation, will host its 14th Annual Philanthropy Leaders Summit on Friday, Sept. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Las Vegas and Reno. This year’s theme, “Transforming Philanthropy for Lasting Change,” will unite 500 corporate funders, family foundations, and individual philanthropists to exchange best practices, foster collaboration, and amplify the impact of charitable giving. The Discover Science Lecture Series was founded by the College of Science in 2010, with the goal of bringing the country's top scientists to the University to share their knowledge, research and wisdom with the community.
