The Business Development team is pleased to acknowledge a competitive multi-state site selection process completed in January: Boxout Health selected Northern Nevada for their new facility and will hire up to 47 new candidates to lead operations locally. | | |

Boxout is a family-owned, national distributor of spa, massage, beauty, fitness, rehabilitation, chiropractic, and health & wellness products. They will be occupying a 150,000 SQ FT facility in the TRI-Center. The company plans on hiring 47 new candidates at $32.00 per hour. | |

The Business Development team hosted 23 site visits for the month of November and December. EDAWN's goal of $500 million dollars in new capital investment has been met. The team is pleased to report that Northern Nevada has captured almost $3 billion dollars of new investment from new and expanding projects, well exceeding our FY goal.
Fifteen potential project leads are active in the pipeline and have cited Northern Nevada, our region, as a finalist community, therefore, several announcements are forthcoming in transportation/logistics, materials handling, and advanced manufacturing.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT UPDATES | |
Nevadaworks has announced 400 enrolled students in classes for entry level certification in the fields of manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and technology through the GJNN grant. These candidates will be available through EmployNV for interviews and placement in June of 2025. In addition, Nevadaworks will also being rolling out a new IWT program and programs supporting internships and apprenticeship programs. In November and December, our Business Retention Team had the pleasure of meeting with 32 local primary company business leaders. These in-person visits led to the exciting discovery of 337 new jobs being added in the past year, with an additional 52 jobs projected for next year. We’re thrilled to see such positive growth in our community!
