The companies visited are projecting the addition of 365 new employees in the coming year, and the team has made 119 introductions to education providers and other businesses. Apply to pitch at our regional competition for Startup World Cup. As part of Reno Startup Week, and in partnership with Elevate Reno and Pegasus Tech Ventures, 10 startups will take the stage on Wednesday, September 18th to pitch their companies. Each startup will have 2 minutes to pitch, followed by Q&A from a panel of judges. The winner of our regional event will go on to compete for $1,000,000 at Startup World Cup's Grand Finale in San Francisco, October 2-4 at Hilton Union Square. Welcome Sahan Samarakody Mudiyanselage! Sahan will be with EDAWN as a summer intern until mid-August helping the ED team plan for Reno Startup Week. He brings experience in event coordination and project management, and we're so excited to have him on board! Sahan is an international transfer student from Sri Lanka studying Information Systems at UNR. He is currently a senior and expected to graduate in Fall 2024. In the future, he’s looking to start a career in Project Management and eventually open a Sri Lankan restaurant in Reno.
