The Business Development team had the opportunity to travel for attraction efforts in May. The team met with nationwide site selectors, developers, real estate brokers and companies, at the NAIOP National Forum and Select USA Investment Summit. Northern Nevada is an ideal site location for international businesses given the current rise of EV battery, data centers, advanced manufacturing, and clean energy opportunities.

Casio Computer. LTD is a Japanese electronics logistics/distribution center known for their calculators, mobile phones, digital cameras, electronic musical instruments, and digital watches. The company will occupy 63,000 square feet of space in Sparks, NV, and is expected to create 100 jobs with an average hourly wage of $35.00 in the next few years.

As Nevadaworks continues working through the implementation phase of the Good Jobs Northern Nevada grant, there are currently 77 participants completing training within the four sectors including manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and digital technology in the next 30 days. Gener8tor kicked off its spring gBeta cohort as part of their Electrify Nevada program in April. Five outstanding companies in the lithium and clean energy space are participating in a 7-week intensive program, including site visits to facilities such as Redwood Materials, Tesla, and American Battery, as well as connecting with mentors and investors across the region.
