Their Electronic Data Integration (EDI) platform offers a modern software developer experience to enhance GPS tracking systems for their clients, including FedEx, USPS, UPS and others in the logistics and transportation space. Orderful operates with 50+ highly paid technicians and IT professionals. We are excited to announce that their executive team is contemplating Northern Nevada to name as their new headquarters. | | |
Kuriyama of America operates a significant packaging, logistics and distribution center. The company distributes a complete line of thermoplastic, rubber and metal hose products and accessories including couplings and fittings. They are adding 15 jobs to the region with future plants to expand their 60,000 SF building in Reno. This would be their third expansion in market. | |

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT UPDATES | |
Nevadaworks, our regional workforce board, has entered a new phase with the GJNN grant with the enrollment of participants in a variety of training programs. With over 1,500 interest forms completed, over 400 participants have begun training in the fields of manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and digital technology. Interested employers should monitor the progress of these candidates and be prepared to interview potential employees who have completed the training curriculum. Apply now for the Pack Internship Grant Program’s 2025 cycle! Since 2015, PIGP has hosted over 550 internships with 180+ employers in the Reno-Sparks-Tahoe area, offering invaluable career experiences for Wolf Pack students. Employer applications are open until October 11, 2024. The program runs from January 21 to May 1, 2025, and requires 120 hours of work at a minimum wage of $16/hour. The BRE Team discovered an expansion opportunity while conducting an in person visit with Old Dominion Freight Line. Old Dominion currently employs over 200 individuals in Northern Nevada and has plans to add approximately 100 new positions in the coming months, as it expands its’ facility by 300k square feet. EDAWN’s Business Development Team will work with Old Dominion Freight Line on their Expansion. | |

The Business Retention Team at EDAWN conducted 25 visits in August resulting in 29 non-assisted jobs added for the month, with a forecast of 39 additional jobs to be added next year.

As part of Reno Startup Week, 11 startups took the stage to compete in Reno’s Startup World Cup regional competition.
