The Bonita Springs Estero Economic Development Council continues to advance its initiatives in our key strategic priorities including workforce development, business retention and expansion and quality of life. In 2018, you can trust that we will continue to deliver results that enhance our community.
One initiative that you will hear more about in 2018 is the Lee County Attainable Housing Coalition. We continue to be a vital part of this group where we are working to increase the number of Lee County residents that pay less than 45% of their income on both housing and transportation. Currently, the average Lee County household spends 58% of its income on housing and transportation. Check out the below editorial for more details on this project and how to get involved.
We are also working to bring
ride-sharing options to Southwest Florida.
Ride-sharing programs are an innovative way to reduce road congestion and transportation costs as well as provide parking solutions for high density areas. More to come on this in new year.
Other topics we'll address in 2018 include helping small businesses continue to create jobs, supporting sustainable growth and cultivating healthy communities. Investors and partners, thank you for your support. You are truly helping us make a difference in the region and we are excited for the new year and new accomplishments!
