Attention EDCAR Members,
El Dorado County Association of Realtors® officers have recently discussed the measures our Association should take part in to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, commonly known as the coronavirus.
Based on that discussion the Association will be temporarily suspending all gatherings and meetings, including our tour and marketing meetings held each week, until it is advisable by the CDC or state directives to hold large gatherings again. In addition, the Cameron Park Community Center (which is our venue for one of our weekly meetings) will be closing their facility until further notice.
The California Department of Public Health recently released a Gathering Guidance Document, which you can view here:
CDPH Gathering Guidance PDF
. In that document the following is referenced: "Smaller gatherings held in venues that do not allow social distancing of six feet per person should be postponed or canceled. This includes gatherings in crowded auditoriums, rooms or other venues."
We believe that our meetings fit in that category, and in the best interest of our members health and safety, and to help comply with requests from State health organizations, that our meetings will be suspended until further notice.
The Association knows that this decision may impact your plans and your sellers plans for holding open houses and marketing, and we apologize for any unintended consequences. As soon as we feel the climate surrounding the virus has improved, we will continue to host all of our meetings and educational opportunities.
It is important that we do our part as a community to not only try to remain calm, but to realize that all of these efforts will assist in flattening the curve of potential infections in the coming weeks and months.
Thank you for your understanding, and we will update you with any changes in the near future.
