The EDCO Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Crilly as Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EDCO effective immediately. Stephanie joined EDCO in December 2021 and bringing a wealth of experience in project management, economic development, and event planning. Stephanie has a strong work ethic, having advanced many projects to completion this past year, and is ideally positioned to lead the organization during this transitional time.
A Board hiring committee is in the process of reviewing the CEO job description, after which we will begin a recruitment campaign to identify EDCOs next leader.
The Board of Directors appreciates Stephanie’s hard work and dedication and the continuity that she will bring. We look forward to working with Stephanie in this role and are excited for the next chapter of EDCO as we continue the important work to promote and grow the economic development profession.

The EDCO Mentorship Program aims to facilitate relationships between two people in economic development where an individual with experience, knowledge, and/or connections can pass along what they have learned to another individual. The mentor will share best practices and leadership, while the mentee receives support to enhance their personal and professional development.

Ontario Attracts Economic Opportunities with Trade Mission to India | |
The Ontario government has concluded a successful trade mission to India to strengthen relationships with economic partners and attract new investments in key sectors, including manufacturing, technology and life sciences. The mission, led by Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, resulted in renewed commitments to collaborate with the states of Maharashtra and Telangana, and in an announcement by 88 Pictures, an animation and media entertainment company based in Mumbai, to expand to Ontario.

Ontario Unveils Plan to Strengthen Food Supply Chain from Farm to Fork | |
The Ontario government is building a strong, secure food supply chain and securing the province’s position as a food leader in Canada with the release of the Grow Ontario Strategy. The strategy outlines the province’s plan to strengthen the agri-food sector, ensure an efficient, reliable, and responsive food supply and address ongoing vulnerabilities through new innovations. The sector’s vulnerabilities include labour shortages, outdated supply chain infrastructure and declining processing capacity.
