Project Updates
As we wrap up our study of UN Sustainable Development Goal #1: No Poverty, students are presenting their TMPs (team multi-media presentations). Each team of students selected an issue related to poverty to research. Within that team, each student selected a lens of the issue to research individually. Students then shared their research findings with their team to deepen their overall understanding of the group issue. Teams then conducted additional research to identify potential solutions that could help improve conditions related to their issue. The final presentations consist of an overview of the issue, an exploration of the limitations and implications of multiple solutions, and an argument for what the team determined to be the most effective solution. Students look forward to sharing their learning with you at our Exhibition Night in February.

Algebra 2: Students spent the last part of the 2nd quarter using the their knowledge of functions and function transformations to create beautiful works of art. All student work will be on display during Exhibition night in February.

Pre-Calculus: Pre-Calculus students paired with physics students to combine their knowledge of piecewise functions and velocity to create roller coasters. It was fun watching students collaborate and problem solve.

Stats: Stats students completed a unit on relationships between data by answering a single question: How many rubber bands should we attach to Barbie so that she has the absolute most fun bungee jumping from the balcony in the front foyer of the school? Students used this question to learn about concepts like scatter plots, correlation, regression line, predictions and residuals and others.
