Life Below Water Mini-Exhibition
EDGE students are hosting a mini-exhibition on Tuesday, November 14th from 12:00-3:00 p.m. They will be sharing their projects inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #14 Life Below Water: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development.

During this learning cycle, students identified and researched a water-related issue of their choice. They investigated and critiqued policies and technology currently used to address that issue.

Students demonstrated their learning through three products. 1. Technology Modification Prototype; 2. Environmental Impact Study; 3. Policy Argument. Students will share their completed products along with overviews of their learning processes during the mini-exhibition.

Blush Farms described how their business started during Covid and how social media has been a key aspect of their growth. Thanks to Angie Sidden and Marty Wynn of Blush Farms and Alex Merrell of Hammerhand Coffee. EDGE Grad, Liv Linzy
How the US Can Help End Global Poverty
We had a special guest speaker in EDGE - Liv Linzy! Liv is a former EDGE student who graduated and is now a student at the University of Kansas. As an intern with the Borgen Project, she has worked on a national campaign which works with US leaders to improve the US response to the global poverty crisis. EDGE students are currently working on projects related to United Nations Sustainability Goal of no poverty. Liv's presentation was a great mix of discussing issues relating to eliminating poverty as well her experiences gaining an internship as a college student. So exciting to see former EDGE students off in the world doing amazing things. Thanks Liv!
Project Updates

This month, we are kicking off our learning cycle focused on UN SDG #1: No Poverty. To start this project, students will be working in teams to research a local or global poverty-related issue. Each student will investigate their group's issue through a unique lens. Students will synthesize their research and share it with their teammates. Then, as a team, students will research solutions and create a presentation of their findings.
