Featured this month is:
 Elizabeth Do
    V.P. KeyBank (2006)
All of us graduate EDI on a high - from the moment we step off the stage at graduation, we are all gung-ho and feel empowered to return to our companies.  We became more in-tuned with our cultural upbringing; with our newfound cultural awareness, courage, public speaking skills, etiquette training, and friendships, we were ready to be more effective, globally diverse leaders.  I felt  Read more...

*Editor's Note: Since graduating from EDI, Elizabeth has been promoted twice at KeyBank. She is now Vice President and recently joined the EDI Board of Directors.

Thanks in advance for your participation and for your words of wisdom.

Introducing EDI's Newest Staff Member: Chan Lo

My name is Chan Lo. My family and I arrived in Seattle in February, 1995.

Before coming to Seattle, I lived in the South of Viet Nam and worked for the Republic  of Viet Nam Government as an Elementary School Principal.

I attended South Seattle Community College. I worked for Pro-Express Mortgage & Insurance and then moved to Charlie Dang Income Tax Office.

In January 2011, I joined the NAPCA Organization (National Asian Pacific Center on Aging) as a program trainee. On February 4th, 2013, I was placed as an Office Assistant for EDI (Executive Development Institute.) I am excited to train at EDI as I get to meet new people, make friends and learn more office skills.

Alumni on the Move

Congratulations to EDI Alumni:

Cesar Amaral, Hispanic Leadership Discovery Class of 2012,  has been promoted to Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager at KeyBank.

"EDI, in 2012, helped me get through the toughest year of my life after the passing of my mom. I had a chance to learn how to deal with personal loss and things like "Loss of Meaning" which are some of the topics we covered. I was able to use what I learned at EDI to turn the worst year of my life into the most successful, personally and professionally. It definitely would not have been possible without EDI."

Colleen Yamaguchi, Class of 1994,

has been hired as the Interim Senior Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the Department of Social and Health Services.

"I'm excited to be able to practice the principles of leadership that I've learned from, and am able to share with participants in, the EDI programs, particularly with respect to authentic leadership and cultural competence.  My experience with EDI has played a large role in preparing me for this work, as I remember that it is good to stretch beyond my comfort zone!"

Florexis VelascoLeadership Navigation Class of 2011,  has been promoted to Senior Manager of Global ITI Special Programs at The Boeing Company.

Elizabeth Do was featured in the 1/16/13 edition of the International Examiner.
