Ministry Stories
Ministry Story: Lunch With C.S. Lewis
by the Rev. Andrew Rollins, Chaplain, St. Alban's, Baton Rouge

For the past thirteen years, St. Alban's Chapel on the LSU campus has hosted a weekly free and hot lunch open to all LSU students. Over the years, we have honed an effective formula for reaching out and connecting with a wide variety of students on this campus. These lunches draw as many as 200 students each week who enjoy a free, hot lunch served by members of St. Alban's Chapel. The goal of these lunches has always been to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in a winsome and engaging manner. A short talk on "mere Christianity" is always given by the chaplain. Many international students now attend. These lunches cost around $500 each and are supported by individuals and churches from this diocese and beyond. Many former students make gifts to support the lunches.

To get a feel for the energy of these gatherings, check out our new video  at
Donations are always gratefully received at St. Alban's Chapel, 5261 Highland Road, PMB 376, Baton Rouge, LA 70808-6547.
