To mitigate the expected post-holiday COVID surge, EEF will primarily work remote for the month of January. Sallie will be in the office Monday through Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm. Please contact us before coming to the office to ensure someone will be there to greet you.

Tax credit postcards are out and we appreciate you directing your tax credit donation to EEF. With 88 schools in TUSD, your tax credit gifts allow us to direct funds to those schools with less funding resources and support students with highest need. Every student deserves an equitable education in order to develop their full potential and thrive in life. Please help us spread opportunity, pride, and confidence among all students throughout TUSD.

SHOE SHOPPING (COVID-STYLE)
In December, EEF was thrilled to provide new shoes for 200 students! With COVID limitations, only 30 students were able to attend in person. The remaining 170 pairs of shoes were pulled by the sponsor volunteers and were either picked up or delivered to schools. Thank you to our shoe shopping sponsors; Tocco Financial Services, Judy Tocco & Jennifer Akins, Dr. Lori Levine & Gary Benna, and Dr. Herb McReynolds & Sonia McReynolds.
Shoe shopping events are on hold for the foreseeable future, but we still want to provide shoes to students in need. We are currently testing a shoe voucher program and ordering on behalf of the students to get shoes to students during the continued pandemic.
HOLIDAY HELP FOR STUDENTS
Last month EEF was busy working with TUSD African American Student Services and the Homeless Education and Resource Team (HEART) departments to provide support to families for the holiday season. A BIG THANKS to NFL player and Tucson High alumnus, Levi Wallace, and Youth On Their Own for their generous gifts! EEF distributed over $40,000 in gift cards to hundreds of selected TUSD students so they could buy food and toys for the holidays.
