Colossal Carnival Baskets

Themed baskets are a BIG part of our Halloween fundraising. They are AMAZING and a huge win for everyone - the raffle winners, the PTK and the generous people and businesses who donate items.

Can you believe some baskets in the past have contained items totaling thousands of dollars in value? This is ONLY possible because of generous donations from local businesses and our school community. Let’s make it happen again. Fabulous baskets = Fabulous fundraising!

How to help:

  1. Donate toward a specific basket and suggested item in the PTK webshop. Our Boo Crew wizards will use those funds to purchase items to fill our brilliant baskets OR
  2. Check out the themes and decide which to pitch in on. Procure appropriate items and deliver to the school front desk or bring to the skeleton table out front on Wednesdays. Contact PTK President, Jana Amacher with questions.

The Boo Crew’s item collection deadline is Oct. 26. Basket raffle ticket sales go online October 23 and stay open until the drawing at 4pm Oct. 29.

Themes include: Princess & Glam, Great Outdoors, Marvel, Arts & Crafts, Staycation, LEGO, Nintendo Switch, Home & Garden

The real magic of the Nearly World-Famous Carlos Gilbert Halloween Carnival is that so many of us pull together to make it happen.

SO! You've heard from your class Room Reps about volunteer opportunities and we'd like to make sure you have ample chance to sign up.

While each classroom takes on attractions or games, you really can sign up to do whatever fits your schedule or most calls to you. Love decorating? Sign up for the Ambiance Squad!

Cash Raffle

Another cornerstone of the Halloween Carnival: the Cash Raffle! Now that so much is electronic it may seem like a unique challenge teaching students how to fundraise. We are not selling chocolates or cookies. We are selling an opportunity to win cash.

My little monster recorded a video of herself to share with family and friends near and far. It took us a few takes to ensure she spoke clearly so her grandparents could hear and that the reason she is asking for their cash to support field trips, enrichment programs, and her teachers. She listed out the link and plans on making a few follow up calls to make sure the grandparents got it right. Best of luck to all our students in their Cash Raffle sales.

-- Jana Amacher, PTK President

Prize Donations

Still collecting! We'd love gift cards, candy and new/gently used stuffies as prizes for the many games at the carnival.

Help make sure we have prizes to award to the costumed hoardes. A monstrous box is located in the lobby to gobble up all treats.

All-School Halloween Story Contest

All are invited to tell a tale that will make our skin crawl. No limits to this bone chilling request.

All ages, every class from K-6, are encouraged to write a story that will make us shiver.

Stories must be submitted by email as a document or a photo of written pages to Jana by midnight Wednesday, October 26th. Winners will be announced at the Halloween Carnival on October 29th.

MORE SPOOKY STUFF!

Remember: Boo Crew carnival planning meetings are held every Wednesday in October in the Teacher's Lounge at 8:15AM. Everyone is welcome!

Why do we raise this money every year?

The PTK actively raises money in order to fund programs and activities including:

  • Grade level programs like dance, theater, fish-raising, and cooking
  • Teacher stipends
  • Club and team stipends
  • Tutoring
  • Field trips and activities
  • and so much more!
