Today!!!

Highlands Curriculum Night is today. Here is how to engage and find out about all the wonderful learning your child will do this year at Highlands.

Linked HERE!

  1. Watch the Introduction Video - Click HERE
  2. Watch the presentations put together by your child’s teacher. This will give you information about the curriculum and learning experiences your child will have this year at school.
  3. If you have any questions or want to understand more, join the google meet office hours and talk with the teachers.
  4. Feel free to watch the videos included on physical education, art, music, media and more…
  5. Go to the Curriculum Night doc for links - Click HERE.
  6. Have fun!

Husky Hustle Cancelled.

You may have heard your student talking about the Highlands Husky Hustle (a Fun Run) this week. Due to conflicting interests as well as our beliefs around fundraising and young children, we are canceling the Husky Hustle at this time. We plan to restructure the event and launch it in the near future.

Thank you to everyone who gave to this event. The PE team will partner with the PTO to allocate the funds that have already been donated to the site. We will communicate as we know more.

Materials Pick UpDate...

If you missed picking up materials for your student yesterday, feel free to come tomorrow (Friday) from 8am-1pm.

If you need to make alternate arrangements, please contact Courtney Muehlbauer.

Picture Day!

Picture Day - Retakes

Tuesday, October 26

If your student missed Picture Day on Tuesday, we will be having a Retake Day on October 26th. There are typically far fewer students having their picture taken on Retake Day, so if you are concerned about exposure, this may be a good option for you.

Please note: You WILL be able to use your own picture for the yearbook if you choose not to have a school picture.

A Message of Gratitude!

This week the Highlands together Fund pulled together to raise money for a Highlands family in need as well as snacks and other items needed for kids to be successful at school. We are so grateful to our amazing Highlands community. It is great to know how much everyone cares.

Gather Together!

Highlands

Great Gathering

Friday, Nov 5

Join us for the 2021 Highlands Great Gathering on Friday, November 5th from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at the Braemar Golf Clubhouse.

The PTO’s biggest fundraiser of the year is only 6 weeks away! Connect and reconnect with Highlands parents at this casual, adults-only evening. Enjoy sips and snacks inside AND outside at Braemar’s Golf Clubhouse to raise money for outdoor spaces at Highlands.

Ways to Get Involved:

  • Donate a Small Gathering here!  You can host a small gathering (in person or virtual) to be sold off at the event! Small gatherings are fun and a great way to meet other Highlands families. Ideas for small gatherings include: a sledding party with hot chocolate, ice skating party, kickball game, virtual cooking class, virtual game night, mom’s night out, progressive dinner party, round of golf at a local club, or a grade specific gathering. The list goes on and on. Have a great idea? Submit it! Looking for ideas? Reach out to Sam Pote.

  • Donate a Raffle Item! Have access to a “big ticket” item for our raffle? We are accepting items like game tickets (i.e. Vikings, Twins, Wild, Timberwolves or Gophers), concert tickets or even a vacation home or cabin you would be willing to donate. Please contact Emily Seifers.

  • Buy your Event Tickets here! $50/individual and $90/couple

  • Volunteer to be on the Planning Committee here!
