Welcome to EFC-ER's Weekly Encourager. We trust that this will become a bright spot each week in your emails. The purpose of the Weekly Encourager is to provide up-to-date information about region-wide events, prayer requests, and helpful resources from the local churches. We will close each email with a quick quote and/or survey to gather helpful resources from leaders to share with our wider Friends family.

Keeping Prayer a High Priority
We trust that every church is sharing these prayer requests within their local prayer community. Here are this week's requests:
1
- Please pray for Kelly Willis, wife of former pastor Mike Willis and daughter of former pastor Jeff (Marty) Moran, as she is seriously ill with cancer.
2 - Our sympathy and prayers to Pastor David and Theresa Mabry (Orange Friends Church) with the passing of David's father, Bobby Mabry on Thursday, April 16, 2015. The
funeral was held Monday, April 20 and you may read the obituary here:

3 - Randy Heckert (Malone Chaplain and MAB President) is in the hospital for pneumonia and a blood clot so please pray for his recovery. No visitors, please.
4 - Please keep Pastor Ed and Cathy Vinson (Hanover Friends) in your prayers as Cathy's father, Bob Jones, passed away this week.
5 - Pray for Pastor Craig Henry (DFC-Salem) that the antibiotics will work as he recovers from a recent illness.

"Building Bridges to Change the World" at Damascus Friends Church
* May 1-3 - Men in Missions Retreat
* May 7 - National Day of Prayer Service from 5:50-6:30pm at Jackson Friends Church on the corner of Portage and Arlington in Massillon, OH. We will have music and pray for the church, family, schools, businesses, government, etc.
* May 9 - Malone Graduation
at 10am at Faith Family Church (8200 Freedom Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720)
* May 29 - 25:7 Summit worship leadership seminar from 6-9pm at North Olmsted Friends Church. For information and registration, visit: http://www.noefc.org/257summit. Registration is free.
* July 14-17 - Aliquippa Missions Trip
in Aliquippa, PA. Join students in 6th-12th grade as we come together to share the love of Jesus with the community. The brochure is available here.
* July 18-21 - Yearly Meeting at Malone University in Canton, Ohio.
* September 25-27 - Focus on Discipleship Conference at East Richland Friends Church. Registration is now open! Details to the right.

Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage

This is a two-day seminar held at Willoughby Hills Friends Church from 7pm-10pm on Friday and 9am-Noon on Saturday. The cost is $29 per person or $58 per couple for the 2-day event.
Laugh Your Way To A Better Marriage is a two-day live seminar being presented by Mark Gungor at Friends Church.
Mark will:
- Bring positive hope to your marriage
- Help couples better understand each others needs
- Rekindle romance in your marriage
- Appeal widely to husbands, even those who may typically dislike conferences... and church.

Focus on Discipleship Conference

East Richland Friends is hosting the 2015 Focus on Discipleship Conference in partnership with EFC-ER and the Navigators. This conference is designed to help disciples build a firm foundation in Christ to be able to equip others do the same.
